Radio Cable Routing Questions

I am baffled on the routing of some of the radio cables I am trying to remove. Maybe someone here can enlighten me.

It seems there is a space between the floor of the HMMWV that I cannot see from under the HMMWV.

Must be going through the B Beam.

They may be cut under the insulation mat before they come out and join the power cables behind the doghouse, those might be coax for the radios.

It feels like they may be connected to something inside / under the floor / deck.

Could be connected to the shunt under the truck by the battery. Typically they have large grommet with a flange to protect the wire when they drill through panels.

Is this the shunt?



I forgot that I have a borescope that I got a few years ago to look inside a wall to see where some wires were going. I am charging it and, weather permitting, see if I can see what is going on inside that channel.

Yes, that is one but there is another underneath the truck close to the starter and only visible from underneath along the frame.

Using the borescope I was able to see the hangup and removed several cables. There is one large diameter cable and one smaller one. I think I will be able to remove the smaller one and it looks like the larger diameter one may turn towards the firewall. I got tired and sleepy from our big BBQ lunch/dinner so I will follow up on the remaining cables in a day or two.
