The thing we need to consider in all this is that under emergency use we will never approach the service life of these units. If you are off grid then yea, you can rack up lots of hours. We have to work to put hours on our machines.

Running for tens of ours can easily be cleaned up with a little hard running. You don't even have to load bank it. Just dry a load of clothes or bake a cake before you go back to utility power. It doesn't have to be complicated.

Well the whole "bake a cake" thing would be complicated for me, unless I can talk her into doing that for me! If the 803 was running it may wet stack by the time I figure out how to start the oven!

I once ran on TAC power for 57 weeks straight. Seven gen sets. No not all of them ran the whole time. But some put on 5-6 thousand hours, or more. So the next time you think you are racking up some hours, think again. 57 weeks. Normal was only 49-50 weeks in a year.
