SECM NSN difference

Can someone tell me the difference between this NSN: 4940-01-209-8824 and this NSN: 4940-01-209-8825 and tell me how I can tell which type of box I have? I know it works with the 1028A1 and 1031 chassis. I'm just trying to understand what exactly makes them unique enough to get different NSNs.

Thanks.

24 is designated "ENG" and the 25 is designated "ORD". Other than that, the description is the same so I'd guess the difference is what tools and supplies they are outfitted with.

The ORD SECM has the horizontal bracket for the 250 cubic foot welding gas cylinder above the generator.

Nsn

I will check on that when I get home from work.

I figured it had to be quite a difference since the contract price was substantially different.

Obviously, I plan on using this vehicle on the farm. So knowing what exactly I have will help me get the right TM. I hope to have it in service by next week.

The more I can learn about this bed, the better.

Rack

I also see some of these SECM beds with racks on the top. I wonder if that is indicative on the NSN description or something that was added after DoD acquisition.

Next obvious question: What is the correct operator's guide part number for these shop sets? I didn't see anything in the resource section that covers the body. I only see information on the chassis.

Maintenance manual is TM 9-4940-562-23P and operators manual is TM 9-4940-562-13. Got mine on an online auction site from a guy out of FL.

I was right, per the TM 9-4940-562-13:

"The Type I, NSN 2320-01-209-8823, is a self contained
maintenance shop set composed of a basic shop set, power take-off, and
alternator that will be used by units which will identify and provide their peculiar tool
loads to the shop set. The Type II, NSN 4940-01-209-8824, is a Type I shop set plus a
tool load peculiar to the Engineer unit that will enable the operator to perform on-site
maintenance and repair of engineer equipment in the field. The Type III, NSN 4940-
01-209-8825, is a Type I shop set plus a tool load peculiar to the Ordnance unit that
will enable the operator to perform on-site maintenance and repair of ordnance
equipment in the field. The EOD model, NSN 4940-01-359-5085, is a Type I shop set
which will be used by Explosive Ordnance Disposed (EOD)"

Thanks to each of you for your input and help on this.

This isn't the prettiest equipment I've ever owned. But I think it will certainly prove to be one of the more useful pieces of equipment I have. I have a similar setup on an F-350 flatbed truck. The only problem is that all my stuff is exposed and can be easily stolen. (As demonstrated by a trip to town where my generator was stolen.)
