I just actually watched my own "pigtail" making video.
I have no idea why I'm shaking so much. Too much coffee I suppose. 😂😂
Damn...Shakes McGee.

Actually, I have a REALLY bad back, especially in the morning. In order to do half of these jobs, I need to get a lot of adrenaline going. Hanging over the hood for a few hours and having to pull out that rear battery required an extra bit of the "anger" to fill me. That probably added to my shakes. Lol.

Rain…no better day than to get this steering column pulled apart (if I can..it looks pretty rusty), and clean it up to replace my existing one.

Assuming I can get the steering wheel off of this one, and the other one once it is out, I’ll swap the shift lever and turn indicator lever. The ones on this are pretty beat.

I would have never said anything, but I did notice it a bit myself. Although a little shaking is quite common in all of us. Thanks for the video.

A spray bottle filled with ammonia, an old toothbrush and some patience will clean that wheel up like new .
I like things with a bit of dirt and rust on them.

I cleaned it up this good..

Don’t laugh at my car seats. It’s just to cover the ripped up ones until I can get them recovered.

Time to put the dash back together and zip tie the harnesses up.

All my flashers work, horn, high beams, wipers, shift lever.

Hmmmm…
I just started the truck and realized after I took the key out that it was the key to my old column, and doors.

I just held it up to the key for the new column and it’s the same.

Did the military use the same key for all of these?

All the same, so if you need parts just get them from your neighbors cucv until you can pay him back.

I noticed your dashboard is gray. My is too, but I thought it was replaced. Did the CUCVs come stock with a gray dash I wonder??

I have a new dash. Haven’t installed it yet.
Not sure if I even will..

It is also grey.

My map lights and rear blackouts are working. Need to do the two front blackouts now.

That lighting is a big improvement from stock. Great looking mats, nice to look back and see all the progress.
That’s all looking great!! I wish I had you and Johnny as neighbors. I’d be in CUCV heaven!!

I’ve been in the fence about putting LEDs in the dash. What do you guys think? Any good or bad points about using LEDs?
