Anybody ever found a welded rocker arm on their Deuce; Tooele rebuild and discovered while dealing with a leaking injector pump.

I would tend to think that was a field repair where the truck broke a rocker arm and they didn't have a replacement but they did have a welder.

I wouldn't think the guys at Tooele would have done that. Surely they would have had a good rocker to replace it with.

Well, that makes me feel better 'cause I haven't yet seen this, just had it described to me by the injector pump rebuild guy. Makes me feel better. Thanks Westech.

Ok, If that's what we are talking about it makes sense. I was picturing a rocker broken in half and welded back together.
This helps; I don't yet know where the weld is; the truck is at a fuel injection pump repair house in San Antonio. They are familiar with pumps. Probably not multifuel nomenclature. I'm going to hold my breath and hope it's the center of the rocker which if I understand this right is the weld point through the axis of the rocker on the rocker shaft.

the welds looks like ars.. I bet that is what they are talking about. If it was a field repair it for sure would not have lasted and or would have been replaced as soon as it got back to the shop.

I've already driven it from San Antonio to El Paso, a distance of 600 miles; then back to my property in Dryden, Texas, the end of the earth, a distance of 300 miles, where I began making oil. Shut her down and hauled it to San Antonio where it is now. I would think if the rocker would have failed, it would have failed during these trips. I think I'm o.k. ; I'll know more when I get eyes on it next week.

It just hasn't been a good week for me. Deuce in San Antonio; my roof blew off the house here in El Paso due to freak hurricane winds this past tuesday, and my big Dodge dually has a bad turbo. But hey, it's still a Beautiful evening.
