@AZORRAT Ain't you got a closure/anti-escape for that hook? The chain looked like it was barely hanging on.

Very cool to see an M-816 at work. :) Do you get a lot of business?

I didn’t notice the J hook was used instead of the safety hook until I looked at my pictures. Surprised it didn’t bounce off as much as it was. Granted it wouldn’t of hurt the car if it did. Lol

This is my full time job. I stay busy year round. Off-road in the cool months, and marine Salvage in the summer.

Glad someone is keeping busy!! How are those fingers Swiss - suitably "saved"... I think that was what Ron called them - finger savers!!

Where did you find those oversize LEGO Blocks?
What's Swiss planning to do with them other than killing the grass y'all set them on?
How much does each of those blocks weigh?
So many questions.......

Blocks weigh 3800lbs each. He sets them as the base for the LME tent to sit on so they are 4 ft taller and it keeps water out of the inside

In the NE they are referred to as Jersey or Mafia blocks. These are often made by ready mixed concrete suppliers who have molds set ready for when mixer trucks go back to the plant with a little "left over" or surplus - contractors will often over measure since running short is a really bad thing. They aren't necessarily well made, sometimes requiring many "top ups" with weak layering and porosity from poor compaction/honeycombing. HOWEVER, there are some made specifically, with a faux simulated "rock" side surface for retaining walls
but those are gonna cost you!!!

it was a fun day in the wet snow and mud and then the rains came as we were mounting the box on the Double Skis using the Green Toy which made it easier then using the fork lift that would be stuck in the mud.

Nice pics!

That's an unusual item. What's the background on that thing?
thank you, having an M816 round is handy when the yard is so muddy. the item we were assembling was a Double Ski which we will use on winter road breaks because being a double ski it can back up with out getting stuck. these skis were part of the cat trains that opened up northern Canada and the building of the mid Canada radar line then the DEW line. the easiest way to haul freight on snow with out a road.
here is a quick video of the skis in action.
