Hello MW,

Thanks for the reply, and the information.
I was just wondering, the rear steering would be kinda cool,
and make parallel parking a breeze especially into tight spots I would imagine.. LOL

Good night,

CJ

You might want to go ahead and rest your head against the back window before it shifts to second gear, I'll bet it hits hard.

I don't know what it's called either but now I know what I saw at the local 4X4 shop that builds mud bog trucks. Very cool looking. Unfortunately the shop I am talking about takes the axles out of the MV's and apparently scraps the rest. I should stop in and see if I can get their parts trucks.

If a m1008 can only go 50 then a tug will go tops 30 downhill with a hope and prayer......

They were super low geared, seems like 3.50 at the axle and 6.0 at the hubs for a 22 to 1 gear ratio. It has been a while since I looked them up, but that sticks in my mind.

Hi guys,

Okay, I got it now, very low geared.. Which from what I can remember,
would mean you need more power to push it enough to go faster then 30 mph.

Thanks,

CJ

You should have lots of power, even with a 6.2 diesel. I also think they were locked in low side of the transfer case. Maybe 15 to 20 tops. It was probably designed to pull 60K or more around the air field.
