With your skill set as a firefighter, you should have

a) no trouble finding a job that pays well above minimum wage and is also something you'd like doing.

b) no trouble locating a Deuce with a realistic sale price

c) be able to afford b) through a whole lot less hours working a) than what your original proposal is.

A hundred days work at eight hours a day at the low end is a lot for the truck you describe! Hey, some construction guys I know would afford that very truck in a hundred and fifty hours!

I worked off my m38A1 in the same way you were thinking. It was over priced at $2,900. But i charged him 150 hrs at $20/hr. so i think things worked out in the long run. And I as well as the previous owner were happy.
