Now how true that is Steve - Betty is whom I always try to deal with locally and she is a sweety pie. We have given her kids rides in the trucks and her being a Cub Scout mother we supported her as well. Whenever we walk in she always smiles and says "what MV truck do you have for me today to help you with". Matt Bornhorse is her director and he has been a pleasure to deal with - that is why it is worth waiting out these last few days to get these TOTALLY LEGAL in GA. Might I add - they know we want them as they should me - LEGAL as built. Just a few short days away and smiling and have our reservations at Stone Mountain to take the M909 camping with the 4 squirrels.

15 Days till legal registration in the State of Georgia! You know what we should have a holiday and call it Independence Day! We could celebrate it on Friday so this year it would be the 4th of July. I think I am going to have cocktails and fireworks to celebrate :)

Will tell ya what - Matt Bornhorse the local DMV director called me while we were up in KY at the MVPA thingy. Late FRIDAY NIGHT to talk about getting the M909 registered and titled and exactly what I had to do - PB even talked with Matt and he was very informative. You have to remember - the SF97 was in PB's name - BOS to me - so it had not been released from PB to me yet to just be able to walk in there. BUT - he told us what we had to exactly do & when we got back to Columbus Sun Morning after PB and Tony drove all day - PB headed to his computer and printed out the requested form from Matt and I have it in my hands to go there Tuesday sneaking out of work to get it done.

Glad you started this first OP - you deserve it for hanging in there with us and your great support the entire time - it was an interesting venture.

Another issue we discussed with Matt was the Georgia Title Tax (formerly Ad Valorem Tax) issue and assessing value of the trucks for tax purposes. They (the DVM), at least for now, will accept the price listed on the SF-97/BOS from GL or private party as the fair market value and assess the tax accordingly as they have no experience model for assessments like they do for civilian cars/trucks to go by.
They will also apply credit for taxes already paid to GL if the original purchaser is the one who titles/tags the vehicle, if not...the tax must be paid again.

I'm sure there will be a couple of glitches here and there but it will all be ironed out in the end if all parties keep cool heads and work thru it.

I don't have to try to get my M35A3 titled, I was finally able to register it earlier, but it was illegally registered. Now I don't have to worry about having my title revoked like some have had happen. This was an incredible feat Swiss, Zout and others put forth getting this bill passed in record time. This will help MV owners in Georgia decades in the future, as well as potentially helping MV owners in other states with similar issues that might crop up.

No grease under the fingernails= not working on MV.
That is because it is all under mine, MR. SWISS is so busy that I do most of the wrenching so he has time for IMPORTANT things like getting a bill passed in about 4 months.

A last signature change before going back to a more personal signature. Thought I would put it up as post as well to save it for SS-kind and as part of the process (and as jolt for my failing memory when I get old and the T-shirt is too dirty to read). My signature on July 1, 2014:

Senate Bill 392

APRIL 23: Signed, Sealed, and Delivered.

TODAY, JULY 1, 2014, Bill 392 becomes law in Georgia

Other bills still have to be paid, so donations are still needed.
You can still earn the right to mention yourself in the thread as supporter

Please don't jump queues when registering, no hurry anymore, thanks to Swiss CS you all have time enough to register.

Thanks guys for all the hard work put in this deal. I went this morning and got my title info sent to the state, got a temporary tag while I wait for my permanent tag, and got my insurance. The lady said they just recieved a packet of info yesterday walking them through the process. It took a minute but she figured it out and says I'm good to go. Woohoo!!

PB had to calm me down this morning after taking a very reluctant auth'd 1/2 vacation day off to head to the tag office with all the paperwork in hand.

The Manager was not around - the gal helping you could see was terrified right out of the box - how it ended was the T22B form that was filled out correctly LAST YEAR is no longer accepted THIS YEAR - the form has changed. Aside from her not knowing what to do she said she would have the Manager call me - which he did.

I have the new T22B form printed off (second copy in case I spill coke on it on the way home) then call the LEO to come and do their thing once again.

Thur am the Manager is suppose to be there - and I guess I will get yiped at for having to take another 1/2 day vacation off to go there again.
The outcome was not pleasant nor my expectations - but I will just do what I gotta do. If I cannot get the vac day I am fubared till I can.
