They all went well out of my price range...2 to 3x's what I was willing to spend on a "toy" and I even have a couple thousand acres of private mountain property I could have used them on with our big game hunting business (deer & elk hunts) here in Utah..

It is a DOD controlled item, the agreement follows the vehicle just like the EUC .
So it binds the future buyer also. Fine.

I still don't see the language that effectively says "You buy purchasing this accept all liability for what any future person does with it." I see plenty of language that says the buyer holds a lot of people harmless for what they do with it. And if that passes to future buyers, the future buyer also holds the same host of folks harmless.

Unless you can be prosecuted criminally if you sell an EUC item to a OK buyer and they export it to badland. The same transitive property would need to exist for a EUC.

I'm not a lawyer either, but I've been through some legal stuff, and that's how I read it.

You buy the truck. The truck is found somewhere it ought not to be. Somebody comes looking for you to explain how that happened.
And the answer is "I sold it. Here's his name."

I know you're joking about it, but fair warning to others, this will not be the place (SS) to talk about circumventing legal agreements and laws.

With today's prices I wouldn't be surprised to see GovPlanet raise the minimum bid on the next batch.
I think they should keep the price the same, or even lower it. I'd bet that if they set it to $7K, even during the blind bidding process they'd all be above $15K at "go" time. I noticed a handfull of them started at under $15K before the live auction.

I think what will be even more interesting is to see how many of these show back up for auction.

Only fools bought those trucks at those prices...or plenty of extra cash. Those are prices for registred, titled trucks...some just got bit by the bidding frenzy.

Just won 3, two 2 door and 1 4 door m998a1, where can i source armored doors at?
That may be difficult. Armor is very expensive, but can be found at auction from time to time. Because it can be found at auction, I would naturally assume retailers are buying it, as the price gets up there. PM SEtoyota and ask him. He may know. He was looking at one time a year ago or so and usually keeps up with the HMMWV stuff.

Some of the old timers on here can correct me but I recall seeing someone advertising armored HMMWV doors on this site a few years ago. I think they were in California.

Perhaps the 41K truck that was missing a door. . .

"That Guy" is probably drinking some whiskey right now trying to figure out how in the heck he is gonna justify his bid?

Rick, was that meant for me? Did I say something wrong? If so, Mods, please screen and eliminate, but most of all, let me know the error of my ways.

I think as part of the agreement between DLA and DNR, the untitled (offroad only)/unarmored hummers would be sold to the public and in return, all the deer, antelope, squirrels etc., would turn in their weapons/firearms.

Of course during parades, you get the occasional rock-throwing kid or protester so armor may be a good idea in those missions.

Just having some fun. General Tracy has nailed me a couple times in this thread so I figured I would lighten things up a bit. No foul. [thumbzup]

OK, thanks. I thought maybe you were thinking my thoughts on armor sales were out of line.
I wish I hadn't thrown in the dumpster all those HMMWV parts now. I know I threw away at least a dozen brand new doors and canvas tops w/windows of some kind. Only kept one of each. DRATS! Parts are probably going to go up. Used to be, you couldn't get rid of the things for a nickel.
If you want to make some money, buy HMMWV parts now and save for the future, cause people are going to need them for all these auction sales.
