Lord help me I've become a Goat Herder

Haaaaa.... Mark will always have issues....
With the yellow paint job Mark just need to get a Waffle House banner and he will fit right in.
Waffles on the Go
While Mark is beating on his computer (or, more likely, outside playing with his Goat!), here are a few trip pictures.
1- at the CAMO compound, Papabear loads goat tires while the dog supervises. The barter materials are off to the right.
2- at the Forest Service yard in North Carolina, Brandon/AMGeneral's M62
3- My new NC love again. I'm quite smitten
4- Surveying the livestock
5- Mark goes to work on a new left battery
6- Andy does the same, but on the right
7- Brandon airing tires. All six were flat, and had been a while.
8- Mark ready to try firing her up
9- Exhaust smoke. She lives!!
10- Emerging from the shed

I stopped taking pictures here, as somehow I got elected to wrangle the Goat onto the trailer. The steering was NOT being cooperative!
14- Who picked this short cut through the Natahala National Forest???
15- This is were we stopped to put the roof strap behind the cab instead. We used no less than 9 straps, probably overkill, but I'm a firm believer that nothing ever came off a trailer because it was too well strapped down.
16- Goat in the mirror. That was in Mississippi somewhere.
17- Near Baton Rouge in Louisiana
18- The joys of driving through Houston at 5pm
19- The Goat happily sitting in mkcoen's driveway this morning

Nope. I just tried uploading multiple photos and it just stopped like it was done but nothing loaded. Then I tried individual photos and twice in a row I got a "upload file failed" error message so everyone will just have to use their imagination and the couple of shots that Andy and Rory (aka Joel) posted.
The Goat is stamped on the data plate USMC so unless it was made by the fine folks that bring us gerry cans I can only assume it was a Marine Corps Goat. I plan to paint it Marine Corp Vietnam green with yellow lettering and there will be 3 small waffles to commerate our victory over 3 seperate Waffle Houses.
The tailgate has the step like the ambulances but the data plate does have M561 so either someone unbolted one from a M792 or they swapped tailgates. Either way this tailgate is damaged and needs replaced but I will be saving the step as it is extremely handy for getting in and out of the bed. I'm sure any parade attendees that ride in it will appreciate the step as well.
And Murphy did try to raise his ugly head at the end. Andy and I pulled into the driveway around 2200hrs and got out to the smell of brakes. The hubs were cool but the tires were hot to the touch. I thought maybe the emergency break away had been tripped but it was still in place. I'll try hooking the trailer up this weekend and going around the block without the electric brakes hooked up to see if it's dragging. At least he waited until we were close enough to home to crap out in the driveway instead of the middle of Rory (aka Joel)'s lovely side trip. There wasn't much shoulder to do any emergency repairs in that area.

While it turns out it was in 6xLow that doesn't appear to be the whole issue with the steering. It was minutely better after I got it off the trailer but still horendous. Imagine a parked deuce in sticky mud and you try to turn the wheel sitting still. The wheels might move a fraction but not to the point you could call it steering. I'm going to check for any binding in the linkage and of course whether or not the gear boxes have oil. I'm already thinking of the John Deere Corn Head Grease upgrade.

Nope, Northern Idaho grows wheat not potatoes. While we might pass through that area I try not to stop as they're a different sort of folk and I'm prejudice (well not really. I dislike everyone equally).

Oh I knew about many of the issues but still wanted one. The steering as it is now is not right. I know other people with Goats and there is something wrong somewhere I just need to figure out what it is. With what I have in this unit, including recovery costs, I could still probably double my money (easily) if I wanted to sell it.
