Thanks for the kind words, Driver. It was a pleasure to meet you and I thank you for taking a few minutes to talk with me, I know there were a lot of demands for your time.

Driver great meeting you and all of your group. I got to meet Pappabear and the CAMO crew from GA. I will post pictures once the camera gets charged. I was totally impressed with this many Guntrucks at one gathering and the history I recieved, first hand, from the men who rode and drove these trucks in Nam...

I arrived just as the Convoy was leaving the Hotel. It was a great to see the mighty gun trucks getting on the Interstate belching black exhaust smoke, roaring past the onlookers and displaying our glorious American flag. A true spectacle to behold.

I had a chat with Dan from the gun truck Psychotic Reaction despite his truck was down for repairs.

I also had the chance to have some informative discussions with the knowledgeable JATONKA. He is a unique individual that really knows these trucks.

Work related activities cut my visit short, however I was glad I went and had a chance to see a few of the trucks and visit with a couple of the owners.

2010 Gun Truckers & their Trucks

This had to be one of the best times I've had since I aquired this addiction.

The men, machines, stories, and friendships renewed and started this weekend are to be cherished for a lifetime.

Those that made the trip will know what I'm refering to and those of you that couldn't make it, need to put a "Gun Truck Gathering" on your 'Bucket List'.

As awesome as these trucks are, the men that crewed them are just that much more remarkable. They are all humble almost to a fault, yet each and everyone I met shared their stories, rememberances, joys and sorrows openly with this old vet.

I'm had to cut my stay short a day so I'm still soaking it all in, but I'm already looking forward to next years Gathering.

My thanks go out to the ladies and men that brought the Gun Trucks to the Keystone state and put this years event together.

Many additional heartfelt thanks also, to all the Gun Truckers that traveled from all corners of this country to share their experiences and show the rest of us their proud tradition.

It is for me an honor and at the same time very humbeling to have been in their company.

TThe Carlisle Barracks convoy was great, perfect day, 9 Guntrucks, 2 Gun jeeps, 3 support trucks and a wonderful tour of the site, Curator is the guy who set up the International truck show for us .This is themost fun since my second girl friend, really. JT
:driver:[thumbzup]Told ya John!!!!

As for me not being able to goaua

The bright side for me, one of my reasons for not making it, that person is no longer with the company I work for.[thumbzup]

CAMO got back to the hooch with Proud American and Black Widow with no problems at around 23:15hrs.
Secured the trucks in the hooch and headed home. Too tired to post pics or an AAR but will try tomorrow.
Met some really good troops I am proud to call "friend" and some that have been for some time.

More to follow...eyes are drooping!!!:grd:

I have to apologize to crew of the truck stuck at the hotel, I plum forget to go to the hotel when I left. Could say it was due to lack of sleep, old age or any other thing, but it doesn't change the fact I didn't get shots of it, I'm truly sorry for that.
On a happier note, I hope you all enjoy the shots, there are close to 100.

Even though I was only able to spend a few hours on Saturday morning at the Carlisle truck show, I was fortunate to meet a great bunch of guys and their awesome trucks. My thanks go out to the Vietnam vets who served on these rigs in the Nam, hopefully I'll be able to invest more time in this event next year.

Hmmm....maybe when I get this M37 done I can buy another deuce and make with the armor. :)

Wish I could have made it out, looks like it was a lot of fun. Maybe next year things will be better here for me to make the next one, where ever it is.

The Wild Thing and I'm Not Happy got home 9:30 pm last night. The deuce had to make a couple recoverys on the way home . Had to tow the Wild Thing 14 miles it was nothing serious just an inaccurate fuel gauge. Then 30 miles up the road Uncle Meat blew an engine. So we hooked up the tow bar and took him to the next exit about 4 miles . He had a friend bringing a flat bed to get him . Till Later Randy

Here are more pictures. My favorite is of the convoy lined up at a light heading to Carlisle barracks. The fire base was pretty neat too. I had a great time, met more new friends and spent time with some regulars. Special thanks to Papabear and the CAMO crew, JTONKA and my good friend Bill (Srjeeper) who always makes you feel like you are at home.

WOW---eight years ago I hoped for maybe 20 people and one gun truck, and then for a turnout of people and trucks like we had this year is almost unbelievable, Thanks to the girls that put this together, Thanks to the gun truck owner/operators, and Thanks to the SS members that took the time and effort to bring the support vehicles for us to see and ride, you all did a great job, It would seem that that would be enough for anyone but on top of that I got to meet some of the members here I have heard about and emailed with, I got to see first hand the whole hearted effort these people will go to to help others, from missing one of our events to chase needed parts to hauling vehicles home that had a failure or to save that owner some $s in trucking fees---I met some really fine people and made some really great friends, you all are truely ones to <ride the trail with> and I look forward to seeing and meeting more of you all---Thank you each and every one-----------------------Driver
