Update: Got the beast home today and shoved in it's spot. All my neighbors were gone, Nice!

6TL's are toast and swapped in some old Interstates I had laying around (actually used them to jump it while on the trailer) and good to go!

Truck is great! Fires right up, brakes work good, Needs some work but the only thing wrong with it is the washer fluid sprayer leaks when pushing it.. Nice!

Thanks for the help guys!

Nice man, I'm so jealous right now! I have been questing for several months for one out here in CO. Found a few, but a bit spendy so far.

I hear that, looked at a few and they were kinda rough.... Suprised to see how decent the ones at Jax GL were and they jumped up pretty high, but what can you say. I swapped out the batteries with some laying around and the **** thing drives all over the place, temps are good, heater works, shifts great, brakes work, windows work, hardtop, great bed and troop seats, nice cargo cover, great tires/spare, only a few spots need attention. Saweet!

I love it when a plan comes together. :driver:
Yeah man, 13 days from beginning of M35 quest to truck in the backyard. May be a record? I don't know.. hehe[thumbzup]

Thanks for all the help guys!!:jumpin: **** this thing is awesome!!!

It looks like you have a nice truck on the way! And even better, it sounds like you do your homework before posting a bunch of stuff that's been gone over before. Congratulations and best of luck with your new ride!

From what I have been looking at on the threads about hub flipping and dish in dish out. my truck looks like the hubs are already flipped to the outside and the rims are just run dish in. I'm just guessing this since I can't see any of the hub housing sticking out and the wheels look pushed away from the brake housing.

Can anybody confirm this from my pics?

So If I wanted to run dish out it seems id have to flip the hubs in and turn the wheels around the other way. ****...

Where I'm at now. Most of the interior painting is finished. Not professional by any means but all rust taken care of primed and fresh paint. Cleaning up the individual windshield frames and the windshield frame on the truck, some surface rust but will sand, prime and paint it. Used ospho before priming on the more advanced rust stuff.

Need rubber on one windshield frame, looks like Saturn has a good deal on it. Need mirror bolts too. Would like to paint the green valve covers, ign cover, heater box, etc..

Little more touch up then on to firewall undercoating, seperate 12v install (thanks tm america), radio, 12v a/c (in about 6mos.. when it gets warm) will give me time to figure a compressor bracket.

Man sorry to hear that.

Seems like there are alot coming out in decent shape. Not sure what they look like up by you by mine and a bunch of others here were "fully loaded" so to speak. Had the heaters, singles, wiper/washer, hardtops, some with winches, tent bows and pretty new cargo covers. Many started and ran, mine had dead batts..

I looked at how much that would cost (if you dont have a connection) to get all the extras these had and it was steep. I would try to find what you want instead of putting it together later. With that said, I'm still very new to the M35 so..2cents

Finishing up the small paint parts, you can see in some of the pics of the windshield frames there is some rust. The bad spots I'll grind and paint. The tab at the top of one window that slides into the track mount that bolts to the truck is pitted with rust spots.

I think as long as its primed and painted it should be ok, shouldn't effect the swing. Maybe put some grease in there?

Other flat spots I'll just grind and paint.

New rubber is on the way, but I noticed a rotted piece of rubber that goes above the piece that mounts to the truck in between the truck window frame and the track(primer gray in the pics). Is this the piece of rubber most have just replaced with silicon or the like? Or is new rubber the best way to go?

Also need to seperate the cab top from the wiper/motor setup to get to the rest of the window frame sanding and painting. Need to look through some more manuals to se how.

Alright, some are missing from in between but inside is mostly done. Carpet may be cool, but the beach idea down in Vilano will just make hosing it out a pain, unless its a snap in set? Hmm... maybe later.

Still haven't put in those screw in light covers in the dash, apparently they are brass underneath the paint. Kinda cool and may stip teh paint and leave them brass. Moving defrost, blower, fan switch to far left drivers side making room for the radio and a/c setup. Blower motor works hi/low which is nice! Still touching up the lower vent and duct. One data plate looks like crap, the one with the stamped in ID numbers for the truck, haven't found one.

Wheel isn't painted since it will be switched out during P/S swap. May do a headliner and dome light. Also possibly carpet back wall with insulation behind it. Replaced windshield seals but still leaves gap. Probably fill with that stick on cellular foam. Siliconed the upper plate to roof attach point, rubber seal was toast.

Love to push the pedals further away but they are maxed by looking under the truck.

Still have a gallon of 686 tan to roll on the cab section to freshen that up. Love to find the matching paint to clean up some of the engine parts, unless I go with some Rustoleum Khaki?

Need to get that rust stain off the rear of cargo tarp, tried CLR and many others to no avail..

Also truck will sit there and idle (with throttle pulled to 800~) and hardly get to 120 degrees.. What the deuce?

Enjoy!

Haha, ya I dorked around with the number plate for kicks..

Yeah ! Thats never been done before ! LOL

That truck is looking pretty good ! AND, the best part is you seem to be having fun and enjoying it , And so many folks miss out on that part !
Hehe! Ya I know..

Yeah this thing is awesome! Love doing the restore, with a little extra creature comforts. Just looking into a power steering pump out of a GM truck or anything else will meet the specs of the box. Maybe do a belt setup on the drivers side, those 5 tons are either way pricey or nowhere to be found.

Finally got my door hinges done. Usedsteel pins with cottor pin holes at the bottom just long enough, and greased them. Used regular stainless nut/bolt for the front mirror mount.

Moved my heater controls to the far left side to make room for the radio and a/c setup going under the dash.
