It's much better to not worry about the mileage and just enjoy the trip and the attention you're going to get driving that thing, I stop every 3 hours or so and top off the tanks while traveling. I figue I'll enjoy the trip more not thinking about THAT and knowing what horrible mileage I'm...
There isn't much to know, The 5 ton trucks are larger and meaner looking than a duce, more powerful and have power steering as standard equipment. The M52' tractors don't need to have the frames cut to make a bobbed 4x4 truck and look mean as heck and Hemit wheels and tire bolt right up. I even...
Check out John Winslow Sales 252- 917-3673 Pete, They have been restoring and building these things for 20+ years now and would probably do a trade with you. They are great guys and do everything possible to make sure their clients are happy with their new truck. They have a bunch of trucks...
Check out BigCase here on SS, He has a M-35 with the flipped hubs and super singles on the stock rims and his truck looks Awesome, He's a great guy and would look forward to the opportunity to give his input.
That's funny that you mention the leaky fuel lines and a corresponding cylinder knock, I drove the truck home with the fuel injector return line spraying from a melted spot in the hose and didn't notice till I got home, I was showing off the new truck to a heavy equitment friend and he spotted...
Hello everyone, I wanted to thank everyone for their input to my knocking noise question that I had posted yesterday. Pete from John Winslow sales was so concerned about my happiness with my new truck that he contacted Big Case from New Smyrna Beach on his own to have him drive clear out to my...
I was just told the military by-passed the fuel compensator valve when they redid the engine to get more power. Do you think this could be the cause for the knocking sound I'm hearing. Since it smokes so much could it be getting over fueled and causing the knock ?
Thank you G-Force, A coment was made to me by the seller that this truck seemed to have more power than normal and that someone must have turned up the fuel injection pump which might have to do with what you're talking about being over fueled. Is there an easy way to turn back the fuel...
Hi Panzerwillie, Thank you, You're right about not knowing much about diesel trucks and engines, This is my 1st, The oil and filters where replaced when I bought the truck and was told everything was good, I've checked the oil several times and the level remains and looks fine on the dip stick...
Hello everyone, Maybe someone can shed some light on this subject for me. I recently purchased a 1972 M-52 bobbed 4x4 tractor with the LDS-465-A-1 turbo engine with only 800 miles on the truck and engine since a military rebuild. When I picked the truck up I noticed a knocking noise from the...
I saw your truck on the web site and asked if they had a woman doing their painting and they told me it was your mom. Small world... I live off SR 40 and 445A on the west side of Astor. Looking forward to seeing your truck in person...
