    How many M1101s on a 16' trailer?

The top trailer is strapped down by the d rings. If you look close you can see the straps on the front of it. I was stopped by New York DOT with this load because I did not have DOT numbers on my pickup which were not required because I was not hauling commercially. I was transporting them for...

    Using Spacers on wheels?

Get the 6 lug hubs and keep a 6 to 5 lug adapter with your 5 lug spares. If you go with the 8 lug later you should only have to change the hubs on the axle or get 6 to 8 lug adapters to go with spares.

Stacking M101a2 without turning them over? anyone try this?

If you remove one tire you can stack one on its side inside of the other one. These pictures are of a recovery I made from Aberdeen to northern Vermont this spring. If you hook chains to both shackles on the same side they roll over and hang close to 90 degrees. The lift operator lifted it and I...

    How well will a M1008 handle a 26ft boat?

Our boat trailer has working surge brakes on it. I often tow it with my 2001 f250 4x4 with a v10. Although the M1008 will not have the acceleration that our newer trucks have we will still save time as it will be already hooked up. It will be safer because it will be hooked up when no one is in...

    How well will a M1008 handle a 26ft boat?

My fire department has a chance at getting a M1008 that we would use to tow a 26 ft boat on emergency calls. The boat wieghs around 8000 lbs. Our area is fairly flat. We would put a reese hitch on it. Currently we tow it with our own pickups, but with only 3 of us having trucks set up to tow it...

    1008 Brush Truck

Those fords had the longest production run; 1954 - 1996 if I remember right. Mack also used the cab for a few years in the 60,s as well as FWD trucks and Thibault fire trucks.

Length of pickup tube for bung adapter

Check on your frame. My MEP002's have pick up tubes clamped to the inside of the lower angle iron on the side with the fuel pumps. There is also a place to store the bung adapter on the frame. There is a hole on a gusset of the upper angle iron. I'll post a couple of pics later.

Just got home from recovering 4 MEP002'S

I picked up the trailer at Aberdeen. The upper lunette ring was on the trailer already. I knew it was mounted too high and did not think that I would be able to remove it so I brought one with me so I could match the height of the pick up. I also had to change the plug on the light cord. All the...
