I looked into some other carriage bolts. So far, the carriage bolts I've found with the same size square under the head appear to be smaller in diameter to begin with and are also threaded the whole length, making them even weaker by comparison.

I've seen posts discussing the potential of changing out the fuel gauge with one of the original GM truck tach / fuel gauges. Has anyone actually done this yet? I'm looking at doing the swap.

I went with the U.S. Wheel Stealth Crawlers. With a 9400 lb. GVWR, I just wasn't comfortable going with a wheel that I couldn't get a load rating on from its own manufacturer.
