    cucv auction

Looks like most Humms are in the 5k-7.5k starting range all over the country. I plan to pick one up soon.... I have hired legal consul to know how to deal with some aspects of the aquisition and use this automobile. ETA: However I unknowingly agreed to not talk about certian things here.

    Pin-On 20,000lb Garwood

Have you considered mounting the winch in the rear under the bed between the frame rails ? I did this to my M52 and also one of my M1028's the works great on both.

Poll - Who has done the Doghead Relay Conversion

I bought the parts to do it but I wont put Chicom parts on my trucks unless I cant find anything else.. I havent exhausted my options as I work in a Auto Electric shop and know I can find a butter relay than that POS from NAPA.

How do I know exactly what model I have?

The limited slip diffs have a friction materials samwitched with steel plates. like a positraction differential. The side gears also may (I dont remember) have a spring between them as well or at least one of the posi's did that I worked on some years ago... The 12 bolt gm posi unit has a 4...

    Pin-On 20,000lb Garwood

It was more of a liability issue I told a friend about this who works in a industry where he installs hyd equipment on trucks and other off road equipment and he said the liability of this is (his exact words) thru the roof...Part of the reason winches are usually installed via frame rail...

    Mod's to my M1028

Another mod Im thinking about is either a cab swap or a transmission tunnel / hump swap. Found this info at the link below, plenty of pics showing what years the trans tunnels came on what year chevy truck has what hump to make a transmission swap easier...

    Dana 60 for front end

I would think that a chevy Dana 60 would start at 1k and top out at 1750-1800 They arent as desirable as the high pinion ford D60's but depending on how fresh or new and what gear would make the price go up... Here is a link to a pair the D60 and the 14 bolt take outs for 2500 for the pair...

Any advantage to separate volt gauge for each battery

To PO very good idea for those with batteries in series Batteries in my M1028 are in parallel so it wont benifit me but for those with standard CUCV setups this is an excellent idea..

    Dana 60 for front end

You would most likely want to swap out (im assuming the 880 has a NP203 Transfer Case) for a NP205 as its part time and a much stronger case than the NP203. Compare the center section location on the 44 you currently have with the D60 and the spring mount locations from the 44 to the 60. Since...

hopefully the final nv4500 swap thread

There is one Bell that is IMHO better than the AA BELL its mfg by a company called Quicktime / now owned by lakewood but from memory its only for the dodge with a cummings engine.. AA has it tied up for the chevy engine pattern from everything ive read and heard....Or I would have a better...
