I am not from California but I spend a lot of time there. My Thing is over there right now. I just read an article about Steve Jobs. He never had a license plate on any of his cars. It seems in California you have 6 months to get a plate. He would simply lease a new car every six months...
I have tried to that many times. Problem is I have to download the picture from Photobucket back onto my PC. Then I have to reduce the size until it is small enough to upload here. By time I do all of that the picture goes from 640x420 to 100x100 about the size of my avatar.

Eastwood (no I don't own stock) offers several High Temp flat finish colors intended for exhaust systems. I have never tried them myself. But I am sure they don't have rules against putting it on other parts.
Thanks for the good word about the Thing. It is up for sale but since it isn't a...
I powder coat my bug parts in a regular electric oven. I bought the kit from Eastwood and it does a great job.

My heart isn't set on the A3. Overdrive did not even occur to me. Does the manual 5 speed include an overdrive?

Does the bell housing fit?
Has anyone done this? How did you manage it?
My reason for asking, I...
There is a paint product sold at your local big box lumber yard home improvement store. It is called Penetrol. I used it often on faded dull fiberglass. It makes the paint look wet. You usually have to reapply it from time to time. (once a year)

This is my tractor hood and the blasting rig. I only blasted 1/2 when I took the photo. The attachment fits on the end of the pressure wand and the blue hose feeds the sand.
Sorry the pics are so small. I have larger ones in my photo bucket...
Reading through the various tire posts I get the impression it isn't safe. I like the stock wheels just fine.
You must run tubes with the split rims right?
Is there any "W I D E" wheels available (without cutting and welding) that will fit the deuce?
I was told that ALCOA does not make wheels with the deuce pattern. Does any other truck use the 6 lug pattern wheel?
(yes I searched)
Thanks,
