How did you guys drive home? documentation?

I am not from California but I spend a lot of time there. My Thing is over there right now. I just read an article about Steve Jobs. He never had a license plate on any of his cars. It seems in California you have 6 months to get a plate. He would simply lease a new car every six months...

    Powder Coating

I have tried to that many times. Problem is I have to download the picture from Photobucket back onto my PC. Then I have to reduce the size until it is small enough to upload here. By time I do all of that the picture goes from 640x420 to 100x100 about the size of my avatar. Other forums...

    Powder Coating

Eastwood (no I don't own stock) offers several High Temp flat finish colors intended for exhaust systems. I have never tried them myself. But I am sure they don't have rules against putting it on other parts. Thanks for the good word about the Thing. It is up for sale but since it isn't a...

    Powder Coating

I powder coat my bug parts in a regular electric oven. I bought the kit from Eastwood and it does a great job. Before: After: I can't figure out how to post my photo bucket pics. "G"

    Multifuel Automatic Transmisson?

Because they burn diesel and I would not be able to (easily) burn WMO or other fuels like the multi-fuel engines can. "G"

    Multifuel Automatic Transmisson?

My heart isn't set on the A3. Overdrive did not even occur to me. Does the manual 5 speed include an overdrive? I am just thinking outside the box and I don't have the knowledge of MVs that the rest of you have. Most parades are slow and steady. Mardi Gras parades are constant start and...

    Multifuel Automatic Transmisson?

Multifuel Automatic Transmisson? Here goes my first post of hopefully a never before asked question. Will the Allison automatic transmisson used in the A3 work in a Multifuel A2 truck? Does the bell housing fit? Has anyone done this? How did you manage it? My reason for asking, I...

    CARC and Rain look Great

There is a paint product sold at your local big box lumber yard home improvement store. It is called Penetrol. I used it often on faded dull fiberglass. It makes the paint look wet. You usually have to reapply it from time to time. (once a year) "G"

    pressurewasher sandblaster attachment

Frodo, Happy to oblige: This is my tractor hood and the blasting rig. I only blasted 1/2 when I took the photo. The attachment fits on the end of the pressure wand and the blue hose feeds the sand. Sorry the pics are so small. I have larger ones in my photo bucket...

    Deuce Wide Wheels Question

Reading through the various tire posts I get the impression it isn't safe. I like the stock wheels just fine. You must run tubes with the split rims right?

    Deuce Wide Wheels Question

No not really. I would just like to safely run Michelin 395 tires (in the future) without spending $200+ for each wheel. "G"

    Deuce Wide Wheels Question

Is there any "W I D E" wheels available (without cutting and welding) that will fit the deuce? I was told that ALCOA does not make wheels with the deuce pattern. Does any other truck use the 6 lug pattern wheel? (yes I searched) Thanks, "G"
