Yeah, the previous owner of my CUCV didn't put that torque strap on the starter and it stripped that ring gear to Hell. Luckily, the flywheel is pretty cheap to replace... how hard was it to install? Got any tips on that?

You CAN get a 205 with a 3:1 ratio if you buy the Lomax kit or assembly. It replaces the stock case and internals but it will run you $1100 to $2200. It also eliminates the PTO function. LoMax 205 Complete Transfer Case
