Well after a long stretch of "I really should do something about that...." I finally ordered a new master cylinder (and rebuild kit to keep a spare handy) so I can put the deuce back on the road.
Been a long time since I could drive her and she needs to come closer to home since I moved a good...
Just a tidbit to add to delaware, i know it applies to pick ups so im ASSUMING it applies with a deuce.
It is legal to ride in the bed provided you are not on a major highway, this is as myself and a few friends were told by cops at a DUI check point, so in DE the only "no-no" roads are 95 and...
Wow.....just wow, im in agreement with everyone else, this has to be one of the worst of worst luck recoveries i've seen. Your resolve is deffinitly stronger than most, even I may have been tempted to destroy in place after all that
Dont know how it would have faired with bent lifters, but i...
I find this rather interesting, in the fact that im not up to date on all the crap between DOT and saftey i have to ask.
Other than the age, why is it that GL can sell us deuces, but not the HMMWV's? Certainly one of them has to be safer in some or many respects than a deuce?
Just wondering if...
Deffinitly subscribed
I haven't even begun to dive into the things i want to do with my deuce and this thread already has me looking at halftracks...... My name is James and i have a green iron addiction :D
Keep up the good work, she'll sure be a beauty when you're all finished!
+1 on that, after some data plate studying, i figured out that i could split shift and it made a heck of a difference taking off from a stop and getting up to speed. I may get smacked by the "first gear first" crowd, but i tended to start in low second. Seemed by the time i got the trans into...
The XLs are nice tires, i think mine are 11.00's, may be wrong as i havent checked in a while, but they look real nice on my deuce. Good luck with the mods!
James
I had to move mine down to a friends farm because county code enforcement decided to get on my stpfather about thunder and my stepfathers motor home, for now till I find somwhere closer its parked next to my buddys deuce on a farm, lol.
Trust me, ill be up someones rear at county code this...
i much prefer my metal can, picked it up at the gunshow after the febuary meet in eldersbeurg, cost me 35 bucks, not too bad, its clean and has the seal.
filled it and the deuce the other day :driver:
more like caked salt.
and yeah, that was my thoughts too, i think its more the fact of it being driven more than it has been in probly over the past 5 years thats helping it along.
As some of you guys may know, my deuce got into a fight with a guard rail this last decent snow we had in DE and the guard rail won, kinda.
I finally got around to adjusting the t-case shifter because the cab had tweaked and it seems that now Thunder is rollin better than ever, takes off like...
Do you have the ratchet brake or over center type? Over center I'd say just make a bracket right behinde it close to the base of the handle and set it so when the lever is in position it presses the switch. Ratchet im not too sure about
Yup, I did that one night, tired, dark, reach for the cable *engine screams up to 2k full whistle* promptly laid a gold brick in my seat and pushed it back in.
Haven't done it since, if it's dark, I either move slow, or turn on my "idiot light" that I put in on the recovery, a magnetic light...
Won't be able to make this one, just started a new job so I'm still getting settled in, hopefully I'll be back next month, Dan will more than likely be with me again as well, lol, he asked me earlier this month when we were going again
