Well, just wanted to return to this topic to let y'all know what we've found out. We started tearing down the axles to restore them. The combat rims, although dirty and paint chipping, are in dang good shape! No major damage or rust. The axle had a repezza (SP?) joint on one side, and it looks...

Well we finally got a tire off the wheel. A friend said there should be a ring with a hinge, but there was not. Thoughts?

Ok, I'm home and finally I think I can get some pictures up. We managed to get one of the bead rings off, but now I'm not even sure these are true bead locks. Let me know what y'all know about these.
