I jacked it up and did the lock to lock... No issues and no squealing.
The fluid was red so someone prolly used atf. It was not burnt or flu cloudy. I replaced it with power steering fluid.
The new pump didn't mention a filter.
My u-joints are new.
It feels jerky when I am stopped or moving slowly and turning.
I don't think the hydro-boost is going bad but I have no proof of that.
I haven't changed the lines but it seems that a collapsed line would inflate with pressure.
Thoughts?
Well the noises back... new pumps new belt new steering damper... it doesn't happen all the time when I'm sitting still wanna try to go lock to lock it makes the noise.
Thoughts?
Ok I got the pump out. Does the pully just "pull" off? I looked at the TM and it just says "Remove power steering pump pulley (14)."
I don't see anything "holding" it in place. I have a puller but I don't want to bend it if there is something that I am missing that is holding it in place...
It is + to + and - to -...yes the resistor has been eliminated.
It is a fully functional system... Just wanted to know if I can go straight to the power bar...i'd like to eliminate the cables having to hook to a battery terminal as it is always a weak connection...if I can go to the power bar...
My truck has been converted to 12 volts.
Can I hook up my batteries straight to the power bars on th the firewall (each + to the power bar and each - to the power bar) and get the same effect as hooking them in parallel (+ to + and - to -)?
Is one better than the other would I get the same...
That is what I am thinking... I put on all new ball joints and u-joints in the front. I'm putting on a new steering damper tonight.
Nothing is bent or out of alignment...it just started making this noise and it gets kinda "jerky" or seems to miss a beat when the noise starts.
Rebuilt pumps are...
My M1009 just started to make noise from the power steering pump when it is under a load (turning while siting in one place)
If I am rolling it doesn't do it... I put on a new belt (the shorter one for better fitting) and it still does it.
The fluid it correct.
Is this a sign of the pump...
I have an m1009 also and have ran wvo for some time. The weak point in the system is the IP on these trucks.... I guess if you had to replace one each year, you would still be saving money.
Watch for air leaks... they wreak havoc on your system and your starter...
Other than that it will run...
yes I read those... still, I'm with M1008driver... no clear understanding...
Where is this tach buffer and ste/ice? Any pictures of the exact point to tap into?
Using these instructions http://www.egauges.com/pdf/vdo/0-515-012-044.pdf and the settings for Alt A/C tap 6000 RPM (12-17) I've...
The rubber cover on that post had never been removed... It was very clean... New tach... New wire ... clean post.
Id like to try one under the dash but I couldn't find anything (pics) that showed where it is
