used a product by KANO called AREO-KROIL soaked over night removed studs (two front facing engine) one wack it came lose, double nutted stud to remove, now waiting for pitman arm remover to be delivered. thanks everyone for help-full hints
having trouble removing the steering arm, removed the 4 nuts will not break lose(i am talking about the arm on top of driver side break drum) do the studs have to be removed for it to be removed? soaking with penetrating oil
put in new turbo, runs great again, have old turbo shaft moves in and out, can buy rebuilt kit for about 100 bucks or have rebuilt for about 300 bucks. brian it cost about 50 bucks just to sent it can't give it away.
took intake pipe off turbo blades not smooth but grinding, shaft moves back and forth, ordered nos" quiet" turbo thanks to all who replied to my post . know a lot about flat fenders dodges, a little about m715's almost nothing about deuces! thanks again john
started blowing blue smoke, diesel fuel oil all checked o.k. noticed temp was 140 after 1/2 drive going to replace thermostat would low engine temp cause this problem?also noticed a little oil leaking on exhaust side of turbo and exhaust pipe is not sooty but oily. advise john
thanks for all the info. on air filters, i live in "mark twain national forest" so dust is not a problem, drive the deuce about 1000 miles per year change oil every year to year and 1/2, keeping a oiled air filter clean would be no problem, my question is does k&n part no. ru3260 fit in the air...
has any one hooked up a k&n type air filter to there m35a2 looks like it could be hooked to inlet to turbo after removing original air filter if so what filter part no.
my 1971 amer. gen. started to blow lots of blue/white smoke, checked all fuel filters they seem o.k. checked all lines seem o.k. also . used to blow a little black smoke like normal now lots of blue /white any suggestions what the problem is my be down on a little power also please advise john
how long do the batterys in a deuce last? have 24 volt solar charger on mine plus 12 volt trickle charges on both batterys I believe they are about 4 plus years old. very weak on start ups. can you direrct me to where I can purchase new batterys?
has anyone done the math on actual speed of deuce when you go to super single tires, i am running MICHELIN G20 PILOTE XL 15.5/80R20 when the speedo reads 30mph how fast am i actually going and what would it the speedo read for 55 mph any help would be appreciated john
have 1949 dodge runs, rust free, always garaged owned for about 40 years rebuilt almost everything, has not only front winch but also pto driven rear winch getting to old to keep it running put on less than 50 miles a year for last 15 years! what do you think it is worth?
the 12 volt was replaced by a out of tank [external ] 24 volt pump the 12 volt ran but would never purge air out of secondary filters with out engine running now leak showed up on primary filter,ergo going to get spin on from jatonka as soon as he calls me back.
checked all fuel lines, seemed o.k. still hard to start changed external fuel pump the one I took off was 12volt the one I put on was 24 volt worked fine with no air in system started right up! am I using the correct pump [24volt]? also going to spin on primary fuel filter . advise john
