    $500 1986 m1009

SOLD!! Thanks. I went out this morning to start my CUCV to go to work and I'm pretty sure I burned out my starter. Instead of replacing the starter (which I did last year), I'm going to sell it. $500 and it yours. You will need to tow it. I bought the truck about 3 years ago and it has been...

    M1008 Glow plug relay stuck.

I agree with hobie237. I live by you and I noticed my GPR never cycled all summer long. I started having trouble starting my M1009 when the weather got colder so I replaced the GPR and it cycles like it is suppose to now. I'm surprised this is the first time you GPR cycled. Have you had any...

    Cigarette Lighter Wiring?

I bought a ash tray for a civilian Blazer which has the cigarette lighter already in it and swaped it with the original ash tray (mine was broken and hung open). I just installed a wire from the battery to the cigarette lighter. I had to drill a hole in the firewall. I put a fuse in the wire so...

    Temp Sensor part #10045847

The temp sensor came as a kit that included the material to splice into the wire. I have fresh Wellman 70's in there. I also have a new glow plug relay. I don't know what is going on with my M1009. Sometimes it gives me problems starting and other times it will start right up and the temp is in...

    wellman glow plugs

Does it crank over or do you get nothing at all? If it cranks but doesn't start it could be the glow plug relay or a control card. If it doesn't crank at all, try shifting the gear lever to neutral or shift it around and then back to park and then try to start it. Sometimes I need to do that...

    GEN 1 Light Voltage Gauge

My GEN 1 light gets really bright every once in awhile while I'm driving and the voltage gauge will go to the right when this happens. This just started yesterday. I'm guessing a loose wire somewhere or maybe the voltage regulator is going. Has anyone ever experienced this or have any ideas? Thanks.

    Temp Sensor part #10045847

Is 10045847 the right part # for the temp sensor? That is what the manual says but I was wondering if it was right. I bought one and put it in my M1009 (the connector is differenct so I had to cut the wires and splice in the new connector). I had trouble starting my CUCV when the temp was in...

    Need info, can't find it.

I've used AC60's and Wellman 70's in my 24V M1009. Both worked fine but I noticed it took the wait light longer to go out with the 60's. The 60's have a wider end than the 70's and will not work with the stock clip on the end of the glow plug wires. If you use the 60's you'll either need to swap...

    Bad Glow Plug Control Card?

Thanks to everyone for responding. FMJ- I'm going to install the pushbutton switch this weekend (if I have time- I have a wedding to go to this weekend). Westech- There must be some confusion regardiing my post. I'm not pumping the gas, I'm just holding it down halfway like it says to do on...

    Bad Glow Plug Control Card?

I have a stock (24V) M1009. I replaced the temp sensor, the glow plug relay (part GPR109 from Napa ) and I have all new Wellman 70 glow plugs. And I still have problems starting the blazer in cold weather. It takes about 3 tries for me to get the truck running when the temperature where I live...

    One more hard starting question

Yes I hold it down half way if it is above 32 degrees and all the way if it's below 32. I do notice if I only hold it down an inch or so it seems to start a little better.

    One more hard starting question

I have/had this exact same problem- I'm not sure if it is a new problem or a continuation of an old one. My 1009 first starting giving me problems last winter. The wires to the temp sensor were breaking going into the sensor, so I replaced the temp sensor (and wires). The weather started getting...
