Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

Well... I am hoping for just the head gasket. It was obvious when I pulled the head and saw the firing ring missing in between the cylinders. The top of pistons look real good. Hopefully, I will have the heads back next week from machine shop.

What are these for? from head gasket kit

Not sure what these are used for. Did not see anything like this when I removed heads from motor on multifuel. Also, I was able to remove the nuts from oil cooler side. I am not sure the tool I have will be able to torque nuts. Is anyone willing to loan or rent their tool. If so, please...

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

Okay, here is the latest. I did a compression test today. From front to back(radiator to fire wall) #1 350psi #2 0psi #3 0psi #4 350psi #5 350psi #6 will build to 200psi and leak down to 100psi looks like the heads must come off. Now to just find the time.

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

The old salt doesnt think the piston is messed up because there is no blow by or excessive smoke coming out of breather.

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

An old salt told me it sounds like a skip. I am lacking experience for checking compression. And working on heads.

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

I have a M35 Deuce and half with the Hercules engine. Recently I had a stuck injector and had it fixed and reinstalled. Truck runs very rough still and smokes. I am getting out of my scope of expertise and looking for a mechanic or shop to look at the problem. I live in the Raleigh NC area...

    Diesel leaking on turbo??

I had same problem as describing and fixed with new o-ring. However could not fix when I picked up in Atlanta and drove to Raleigh NC. I wadded up a handful of papertowels and duct taped around housing to prevent dripping onto turbo. This stopped the drip for the 400 mile journey home. I...

Assistance from Forest Park Ga to Raleigh NC

Is there anyone that lives close by Atlanta I could call on in an emergency? If I evaluate truck and do not think it is road worthy I would arrange for a tow back. I just would need somewhere to store it for a couple of days.

Assistance from Forest Park Ga to Raleigh NC

I am going to take the advice and stick to the interstates. I am trying to convince a 69 year old to come with me. He was a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the national guard, truck driver, diesel mechanic and retired with the Fire Dept with 30 years. I am thinking he will be invaluable...
