Just picked up a complete whip antenna group (antenna, mount, guard). Is there a specific part that I need to secure the end of the antenna to the rear bumper or is this something that can be improvised? Just curious.
I never lock mine and I always leave the keys in the ignition. As hard as mine is to start it's unlikely anyone will figure out the starting sequence. As much pain and angst I have with mine the thiefs will most likely bring it back.
For those interested in doing it yourself or having the young man do it for you feel free to e-mail him at: tmcamp91@gmail.com
I can attest that this is a quality job and is fitting for most MV's.
I'll post the Eagle Scouts email address tomorrow so you guys can ask him questions directly. I spoke with him a few days ago and he's willing to wrap anyone's wheel if you send it to him.
I've got him doing some knife handles on a few Randall's I have. Pics to follow when completed.
Not sure how much cord it took exactly. No more than 20 or so feet is my guess. It took a little more than an hour of constant work as I wouldn't allow breaks :)
When I see him again I'll inquire as to the weave name and any other pertinent info.
My steering wheel must have 24 years of crud embedded in it to the point no matter what I used to clean it the stuff keeps bleeding through. I enlisted the services of a local Eagle Scout and he wrapped my wheel like a ships wheel using 550 cord.

Mine is one more failed start from getting the sledge hammer. I don't recall the issues I've had with my POS in the military. If I hadn't practically rebuilt mine I'd pour gas on it and have a bon fire party.
I participated in "Battle Griffin - 93" in northern Norway and again in 1996. We pulled vehicles from the caves near Bogen Bay and some near Narvik. The US pre-positioned enough equipment to support an Air Landed Marine Expeditionary Brigade in defense of northern Norway against a Soviet...
I bought a Silverado C1500 brand new in 1993. Since then, I've replaced the tires, changed the oil, brakes, batteries and a starter that's it. That truck is incredible, I'll keep it till I take a dirt bath.
My 86 M1009 develops and issue every other day. If not for the fact that I'm so upside...
That "font" is what we stenciled on our left breast "cammies" from WW2 thru the early 90's. Eventually, the USMC was omitted and we stenciled only the MC Emblem on the pocket.
More than likely, someone in the motor pool cut out this stencil and sprayed it on. It's for certain NOT an authorized...
He sells vehicles (cucv's etc) and parts as well. I'm about 20 miles to the west of him. He painted my Jeep Wrangler in 3 color desert carc.
The confederate flag flying out front of his place says it all. Word of advice when dealing with him, don't mention your from the North or voted for...
