reagarding your land use situation... any chance you could do some moderate to hardcore 4-wheeling on the ground in question? the midwest needs some more offroad parks?

well, one of the nice things the PO did on this one was switch to the electric lift pump... though he could have done a better job of removing and blocking off the mechanical one...

the point of this thread
the point of this thread is that if you plan on experimenting with alternative fuels on a 6.2
do something about a sacrificial filter ahead of the expensive stanadyne box filter on the firewall. it is cheaper and easier to carry spares as described than to carry 20...
in fairness, dilvoy, the long story ALSO includes
unfiltered (nearly unfiltered, call it poorly filtered) restaurant oil that i did NOT do enough testing on
it also involves the stanadyne filter setup which is way at the high end of price per HP or price per gallons filtered... (necessarily so...
Or maybe it should be 'Altrnative Fuels and Stanadyne Components'
The short story is;
Instead of changing the big filter / waterseparator 3 times in 3 days at 18 to 23 a shot (including a drive to the nearest parts store that actually has them (40 miles from me)
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR if you are...
400 mile trip this weekend, 4.10's / 36's / 465 manual trans gave 14 mpg. not too bad... but i will likely order some 16.5 6-lug wheels and put the 3.08's under the bub.. 4.10 x .76 (th700 OD ratio) = 3.11 to 1. i am convinced the truck would pull the gears, so, when i can fit it in...
Say, JP
mind if I ask who does your pump and injector work..
also, since the MAN type-M combustion system is designed to put part of the fuel on the piston bowl surface, and have it ignite after vaporizing... I would imagine this is a 'diesel-fuel-only' arrangement now... what does the...
cobra, a TH700R4 is a fairly straight forward swap, Mangus has recently done it to his truck and there are many out in the junkyards which were born with 6.2 / 700 / 208 from the factory. my 87 suburban was equipped as such when new.
mangus? do you have a write-up on your 700 swap? if he...
6.2 owners / swappers, take note;
the 6.2's use a 10-pitch tooth on the starter drive, and the flywheel ring gear / flexplate.
Gassers use a 12-14 pitch. No Workee!
The gas starter drive will NOT go onto a 6/2 starter.
Also, the angled bolt pattern of the 6.2 starter is not the same as the...
21 is very repectable, cobra, thanks for posting...
the truck is on the ground again, off the hoist, and outside. tomorrow / this weekend I will change the front clip and front doors, and while the fenders are off I can get the clutch pedal finished.
anyone got a 465 behind a 6.2? i tried...
WELL. I have a diesel 1/2 ton suburban up in the air on the hoist.. and the dodge axles I -WAS- going to use on stands beneath the truck.
Turns out my memory is more 'rusty' than some of my wagoneers.. the Dodge front axle is 33inch spring center pin to spring center pin... the Chebby stuff...
