Big D, thanks for the pix and posts on this subject. I'll be doing two of these in the upcoming months....Thanks to 3dAngus's super sweet a/c deals.
Man that galvi street ell looks dangerous hiding back in there. If I was you, I'd get a brass/bronze replacement before you get to far along and...
Sweet! you didn't happen to dig two of those out of that dumpster did ya? :)
That's a sweet deal at the right price and I have to remember to come dumpster diving with you!
Hey Jones,
I found this link for some good gear. Powerfilm Solar makes some high end gear. You'll note the GM weatherpack connectors on both end of the controller, if you'll do the matching thing with your cables; that'll be one less set of connections to have to worry about "greening" up on...
With 10 amps, you need some kind of float controller or you'll boil the water out of your batteries. You only need a small trickle to "tickle" the plates and keep the batt's hot.
That'll be great for running a 12v fridge/coffemaker/and a laptop off of.....but not just maintaining batteries...
I'm getting one of those train horns to mount on mine. My uncle mounted a three horn special off of his air system. it's a hoot to watch folks sideview mirrors vibrating when you lay on this thing.
It'll make make 'em drop their texting device when you sneek up on them and give them a wee...
I'm new to green iron, but I've climbed all over regular stuff my entire adult life. Why not dip your bits/taps in a good sticky synthetic grease, go slow and the cuttings stick to the grease. Just stop regular, wipe clean and re-dip in grease.
Just a smaller engine guy's experience...
I didn't pay enough attention to your post on that statement.....sorry. But spot on idea with the orifice, 'specially if a newb is on the controls!
Cruise on brother and keep a bind on 'em.
Cheers,
Breeze
one more thing, its a reminder of the russian admonition of the US for spending millions of dollars developing a pen that will write in outer space......they just used a pencil.
Old school cool without all the "i-pod/phone/pad/book/whatever" BS!
Cheers,
Breeze
Josh, that's a cool ol' school, simplistic, sooper cool crane you got there. The air over hydraulics, gives you the best of both worlds, gives you the speed of function without the cost of a Hydraulic Power Unit.
The air power tends to be easier on the hardware because there is some measure...
Jeez Ironhorse,
Thanks a ton for this post. I was planning to do the same thing to my new (to me) deuce for hauling back and forth to the farm. Your write up and pix, answered enough of my questions that I know I'm ordering this Kit from C&C.
Thanks for letting us know that he's a good guy...
Man, I wish I could be there. I work overseas and just can't get that much time off! I could get 2 weeks in tops, then travel back and get ready to go to work.
I'm jealous, but y'all have a great time.
Cheers,
Breeze
Papa B, is that somewhere near the flux capacitor?
I wear the scars that prove i'm a knuckle dragger and probably should've rode the the short bus to school!
Someones avatar or sig on here says "I've met the enemy and he is us...."
Man, do I resemble that statement ro what?
Hah! from what i read on here earlier, the best heaters are $12 hair driers..... attached to a $700 generator and $20 worth of Gas.
I'm going to guess a 'bottom blow' will be left for a bad chili dinner from Mel's diner!
Doug, that same Unc is with a group that's supposed to do some...
