Betts spotlights on an M109A3 - location?

I have a pair of older Betts spotlights, on arms - this is the current version, LED: The arm is similar, and it stands out about 10 inches total from the base. What is the consensus on where on the truck to mount them? I was looking at mounting them as cowl lights, just forward of the doors...

    M109 maximum angle?

Well, thank you all... this is all very interesting stuff! But I still don't have a number! Am I really going to have to install the clinometer and jack up one side until it falls over? ;) Okay, I am not that crazy. But it seems like somebody out there ought to be able to find it. Thanks...

    M109 maximum angle?

Tried looking this up in the manuals, no luck. Does anybody know what the maximum recommended angle for a standard M109A3 would be? As in, side-to-side lean. I have a clinometer I will be mounting on the dash, and it got me to thinking... how far off the vertical can you drive (assuming hard...

    Dented hardtop fix

Some large individual must have jumped on my hardtop at some point; it is somewhat dented in. It is a shallow dent, but pretty much across the whole width of the top. It seems to me that I can push up on it and just "pop" it (mostly) back into shape. Has anybody got any experience with...

    Windshield wipers start themselves

I have searched and can't find the answer, thought that is probably operator error. After my M109 gets up sufficient air pressure, the windshield wipers suddenly start up, even though they are turned off. And I can't get them to stop again. Am I missing something? Do I need to rebuild them...

    Solargizer

Hey - I just went back and re-read my post; it sounds a lot colder and more snarky than I meant it to be - sorry about that. Obviously there was interest in the subject - and I hope you find what you need. Spook

    Solargizer

Cycle Jay - Please note that the thread you resurrected was from 2007. And the batch of Solargizers was a specific, possibly damaged surplus batch - limited quantity, sold fairly quickly. Here is a link to his eBay stuff - I note he has the new ones on there at $70.00, no salt corrosion...

    Goldmine!!!

I couldn't tell in all that goodness, but if you have a blackout cover for a side window or the front window on an M109, I have to call dibs on it. Nice haul!!! Spook

    look at this find

I got no dog in this fight, but alarm bells go off when I hear certain things on eBay and similar auction sites. Now it does happen that somebody will list something for a friend, but it is a way-too-easy method of dodging responsibility. Seems like nobody ever posts anything for themselves...

A Different Kind of M109 Conversion

Have you considered CFLs, or even better, LEDs for your lights? I know they are more expensive, but they do last longer, and draw less as well. Has anybody tried LED overheads in the 109? Thanks!!! Spook
