Winch install - long bolts necessary?

Finally getting around to installing my winch and have a question. Are the long bolts that go through the bumper really necessary or could I just use short ones top and bottom? I'm sure there was a reason for them but was it just over-engineering since the weak link appears to be the stamped...

    Winter front alternative

Let me start by saying I cant stand the look of the OEM winter fronts for our trucks, but at the same time I definately see the need for something to restrict the air flow to the radiator. I have been using a piece of plywood I painted black, and it is not very noticeable. Problem is its all...

    Transfer case air cylinder leaking

My air shift cylinder appears to have an internal leak. Whenever I engage it air blows out of the vent on top of transfer case. It is bad enough that truck air drops to 60 psi when engaged, and compressor never shuts off. Is this something that can be rebuilt or does it need to be replaced...

    Winch bolts

In the process of moving a winch from one truck to another. Is it OK to re-use the bolts? Have heard that fine thread bolts should not be re-used once torqued down. I ask because although i didnt have to use a torch to remove them, just alot of air, they do look kinda stretched in places...

    Curious about different light assemblies

No big deal but was curious about the different front turn/park light styles. Most trucks I have seen have just 1 per side, but a few, including one of mine, have 3 in 1 assembly on each side. The 3 in 1 assembly is made up of a front facing turn/park, a rear facing turn, and a side...

    TN license plate question

This is directed to TN residents, how do you register your trucks? The regular private passenger motor vehicles tag states for "cars, station wagons, vans or pick-up trucks up to ¾ ton rating and 9000 pounds and under in weight." With my M35a2 I am definately over the 3/4 ton rating and 9000...
