As Floridianson said, the micro switch on the Injection pump(it purpose is to allow jake braking only when the throttle is closed). It can get loose and wont work properly unless the switch is positioned so the throttle linkage compresses the switch when your foot is off the throttle pedal...
I have that bracket and have had some trouble keeping the compressor tight. I am going to make a second support with a bolt for adjusting the tension and attach it to the back of the compressor. The bracket(rd-9-10055 )in the 915a1 ac tm would be a better choice as it has a threaded tension device.
I highly recommend you download the TM referenced above( TB 9-2320-273-13&P-2) for putting ac in the 915a1. The Red Dot kit put in the 915a1 by the military is also 24 volt and very similar to the hmmwv kit. Ill try to get some more pics taken today.
Unless this just started and hadnt been doing this before, I think you are probably feeling the outside ujoints on your front axle. They surge like that , it is really noticeable on my M920 with 16.00x20 tires, even more when the transfercase is locked in and power applied. Lockouts would help...
That is roughly 900 miles with several engine starts and stops every day. Ill get some more pics tomorrow of where I mounted the on off switch and what my compressor mount looks like.
I have hauled 30000 bushels of corn 1000 bushels a trip for 30 miles round trip in the last 3 weeks and run the ac almost every run and had no problems yet. I think it is going to work ok. The condenser fans only run for about two seconds when they cycle on. Ive only been running the inside...
The bracket I used is Red Dot part number RD-5-6232-0 and also 75R9890 is on the box. It came with the proper belt and I used the hardware from the compressor in the kit(about 90 bucks from my local red dot dealer). WHen I put mine together I forgot about the tm for putting air in the 915a1,I...

Been using a surplus red dot kit for the humvee in my 915a1. it cools really well I'm a little nervous about the 24 volt system keeping the batteries charged with all the fans running. Click link for pics I...
I use my trailer with water to keep our chemical sprayer filled on the farm . The engine on my 969 isn't functional so I use a commercial Honda for pumping. On my first 969 I was using the original engine/pump with water and it worked great. I sold it to someone who was going to use it for...
Dad has a pouch with his pliers screwdriver and a combo 9/16-1/2 wrench in it that he carries everywhere he goes. I carry a full size steel 1911 in a milt sparks holster every where I go. Trooper632 I meant the cat, truck, trailer was north of 90k I think my machine with blade is 50000 give or...
Pull steering column brake lever and go check the glad hand where air is not coming out. Try valve both ways, they are not always the same nor are they always marked properly..
I couldnt get the pics from picasa to load so click on the link above to see the new pics. Here are a couple pics I already had loaded of my Dad, Cat and M920/870A1
I finally got my m870A1 up and running so I could pick up my newest military vehicle a 1956 Caterpillar D8 Series F Bulldozer. The truck/trailer worked awesome. Im not sure of the weight but im pretty sure I was north of 90000 lbs. When I got the trailer the military was in the process of...
If you look closely at the pics you can see black rubber air hoses going up over the toolbar on the back of the first trailer. also I got the triples and doubles endorsement and tanker endorsement on my cdl with this in mind.
I hooked into the air lines on the back of the first trailer to operate the second trailer and dolly. Its been too long but it was pretty easy to hook up with some purchased fittings. I used wireless magnetic lights for the back trailer and they worked great...
