    Block Heater

Can someone post up a link to Westfolk's website so I can see what he has to offer. I just bought an M818. It's been -30C here for a week. I will need a block heater.

    2-piece vs 3-piece wheels

Thanks for the replies fellas. I bought them, and I'm going to have the tires installed on the HEMTT wheels without the tubes.

    2-piece vs 3-piece wheels

I guess I should assume by the lack of replies that folks aren't that knowledgeable about the 3-piece wheels. Sure doesn't give me a vote of confidence on them. The guy I'm buying my M818 from sells HEMTT wheels for $50/piece. I think I'm going to buy the tires on 3-piecers just for the...

    2-piece vs 3-piece wheels

Are there any negative issues with using tubes? All newer wheel/tire combinations are tubeless - there must be a reason. Is the only reason for a tube to keep outward pressure on the tire beads? What about 3-piece wheels? Any negatives? I'm being offered a set of six 90-95% 16.00 x 20...

    2-piece vs 3-piece wheels

I have a chance to purchase a set of nearly-new 16.00 x 20 Michelin XZLs already mounted on 3-piece wheels. I'm told this set of wheels and tires has tubes. How do these compare to the HEMTT 2-piece wheels? Anyone know the width of the 3-piece wheels. The two benefits I see with this purchase...

    Tire choices for M818

So it looks like I'm close to making a deal on an M818. I'd like to get 16.00-20s for it. What choices are out there in this size, and does anyone have any brand preferences. 100dollarman advertises Goodyear AT A2 as well as Michelin XZL. I've been told 16.00-20s are getting hard to find...

    Selling trucks

A couple times now I have had a pending sale, only to have the seller back out because of the EUC agreement - understandably so. I had considered approaching Eastern Surplus to see if they would consider brokering the sale as they are one of the vendors who are able to export. But I didn't...

    Selling trucks

Thank you Mississippian.:-) I'd definitely like to learn more about this. There's got to be some way to import one of these trucks legally.

    Selling trucks

I'm aware of a couple vendors out there who will and do export ex-mil trucks, but the going rate for brokerage fees is around $2000 I've been told. I have also been told that there's a member on this forum who might be able to do the brokerage for around $1000, but he never replied when I PM'd...

    A Truck with no name

Not intending to steal your thunder.............. But I think this M818 suits the Tonka name a little better. .

Charlie, were your ears burning?:-D Yes indeed, I am talking about the truck CharlieM has for sale. Any Steel Soldier folks want to vouch for him:-)?

New guy from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Hey Davin, it's Ray. I'm still trying to find time to come check out your Deuce. Are you Scott in Blaine with the trucks for sale? If so we have chatted. Yes, Kenora/Lake of the Woods is a nice area. Winters are beautiful there too. You just have to embrace the cold weather.:-P

    bobbed deuce project info please

I'm another new guy considering buying a Deuce and bobbing it. So to simplify the bob-job instructions: 1) Torch and hammer out the rivets holding the rear suspension to the frame. 2) Remove ??" from rear frame. 3) Install a pair of front springs to rear frame. (see "a" below). 4)...

    2.5-ton vs. 5-ton

Is your 5-ton much heavier on fuel than your deuces? How does acceleration compare when not hauling/towing a load?
  18. Rgdl

    2.5-ton vs. 5-ton

Very true. As I have been searching there are abundantly more Deuces for sale than M818s. Supply and demand affect price.

    2.5-ton vs. 5-ton

I figured I would pose this question here since I assume many of you civilian 5-ton owners have owned (or still do own) an M35A2 as well. I have been researching to buy an M35A2. I want to single it with 395s. I also may want to bob it down the road, but after driving it around as a 6x6 I may...

Unimog 404 bed on a bobbed Deuce

Thank you. I just measured the Unimog...... 10 ft long, 7 ft wide. I wonder if putting a German truck bed on an American truck will cause the truck to fight itself and blow up.
