Is there a high-beam indicator light on dash? This is one of the items that failed the safety inspection on my M818.
If there is one - where on the dash is it located?
For my M818, can I use these for clearance lights on the roof and turn signal indicators on the front fenders?
CLEARANCE LAMP SERVICE DRIVE AND BLACKOUT - 24-VOLT AMBER
There's something funky going on with my lights or the selector if I understand your description correctly. I'll have to spend a little more time on this to see what the problem is.
Shhhhhh...........it's a secret.
I just used a broker who sells these trucks and has an exporters license. It costs a little more, but I finally have my truck.
BTW with only the title and bill of sale I had absolutely no trouble at the border.
Defroster/Heater: There's a small radiator shop right beside my office that I deal with all the time. I'm pretty sure the boys there will be able to rig something up for me.
Sun visors: I'm just going to pull a couple off a rusted out Suzuki Samurai I have sitting in a friends acreage. A sun...
I didn't find it too bad at all, and I think Andy had them at ~85lbs each. I'll play around with the pressures a bit one day once I'm driving it.
I'm not overly worried about rectifying any of the flagged items. I understand why it's done and it will all get addressed somehow.
I am...
The temporary permit I had only allowed me to drive the vehicle from point A to point B, ie. the Canada/US border at Emerson/Pembina to the inspection shop. All the lights worked fine when I picked the truck up at Andy's.
I finally got my M818 home Wednesday. Thanks to Andy Cox at Army6x6.
Drove her approx 550 trouble-free miles home on the interstates with the pedal on the floor. It was a fun ride. The funniest part was taking the 494 by-pass around Minneapolis and having folks in multiple cars passing me...
Man that looks nice!!!!
I'm so anxious.....finally going to pick up my M818 in a couple weeks.
Since I have never seen one up close, can anyone tell me if it's possible to route the exhaust under the cab and split it into dual stacks in that gap between the cab and box?
Anyone know where I can find 5-ton front leaf springs/hangars/shackles? I tried the couple sources I know of but no dice on the springs.
I also checked the SS classifieds section and did not find any.
I think the turbo you're hearing is coming from the Deuce that's pulling the M818 out of the hole. You also hear the 855 Cummins at the same time because he's working the truck as he's being pulled.
It would be cool if the M818 had a turbo, and maybe this one does, but my guess is the whistle...
It's not like there's a shortage of 2.5 and 5-ton 6x6s around that are in nice shape. There are plenty out there, and many of them are for sale all the time through various sources. If you hate to see one being bobbed, buy one and preserve it. It seems like many of those who are against...
It's about freakin' time you bob a 5-ton Hundy.
Is this one a customer request or will it be for sale once done?
edit: Just saw the answer to my question on Pirate4x4.
