Fuel not getting to the engine

How do you guys recommend I pressure test the fuel lines? Can I just open the tank and blow compressed air into it? Do I need to seal the filler hole with tape as I do this?

Fuel not getting to the engine

I last drove it about three weeks ago. These items are why I need to pressure test the system. But even if these had some leakage, wouldn't I still get some fuel. The engine might run rough but it should still run no? Thank you. I will read up on this TM.

Fuel not getting to the engine

I'm trying to diagnose why my M818 won't start. The batteries (when charged) turn the engine over fine, but it seems fuel is not getting to the engine. I checked the emergency stop cable (the most likely culprit) and it's not the problem. I still haven't pressure tested to check the lines...

Another way to Bob a Deuce!

I'm doing this on an M818 with a Unimog 404 drop-side box. It's the perfect length, but I will need to widen it so the sides fall 180° and not rub the 1600s.

    M818 cab heater questions

Hello fellow 5-ton owners.:) Thanks to Benders for posting the proper questions on my behalf, and even more thanks to those who have replied with assistance . He's doing some work on my newly purchased M818. The used cab heater parts I received appear to be a little different than the pics...

John, I completely understand. There's a parcel service just across the border from me in Neche, North Dakota called Menke's..... Menke's Parcel Service :: Handling UPS, FedEx, Spee-Dee, and more! :: MenkesParcel.com Ship the boots to this place. They will call me when they arrive and I...

    Jatonka

Thanks everyone. John sounds like the kind of guy I'd like to meet some day. I need the shifter boots to pass a safety inspection so I can start driving my M818. "Holes in the floor" is one of the items they failed me on. John did reply to my initial email that he needed to check into...

Lighting options for a 24-volt system

I had a thought this morning (that's why I smell something burning). What about using something like a Painless Wiring Universal Streetrod kit? These are specifically made for "ground-up" hotrod builds where all you have is a body, a chassis and a drivetrain. I'm thinking I would keep the 24...

    Jatonka

Anyone know if John Tennis (Jatonka) is around lately. I'm trying to buy his shifter boots but my emails don't seem to be getting through. I also left a phone message for him.

Lighting options for a 24-volt system

I need to add a bunch of lights to my M818 to pass safety inspection. Aside from that, I really want my truck to have as much safety lighting as possible since I'll be driving it on lonely roads at night, slowly. I would like to add the following: - roof clearance lights - side...

    lowering deuce m105 wheel wells

Bobbed Deuce with M101 3/4 Ton Bed and 14.00 NDCC Tires

Agreed. I want to try and build a scale model just of the bed before I tackle it. Just not sure what to use for material (straws, popsicle sticks.....;) ) edit: If I can't match the lines of the front fenders then I will attempt to build the fenders so that they are long enough to go around...

Bobbed Deuce with M101 3/4 Ton Bed and 14.00 NDCC Tires

That looks fantastic. Nice job on the fender extensions too. My plan on the M818 after I bob it is to custom-build a box to look like a M101/M105. I want it narrow like the M101 to clear the tires, and want to flare out the bottom portion of the box from both the front and rear corners...

    M818/ Cummins NA250

    Hahahaha...........forgot to convert. 105 km/h, or approx 65 mph.

    M818/ Cummins NA250

I wasn't worried. I recently drove my M818 on 53" XZLs home approx 550 miles, averaging 105 mph on the interstates, and my tires held up fine. You guys are right about hills though. There were a handful of small grades in Minnesota and they sucked the life out of this truck with the big...

    remanufactured M818's for sale???

Apparently his website is currently being revised. You can email him here: Andy@army6x6.com if you'd like to know what his current inventory is.

FINALLY got plates, and a cautionary tale.

...they're so slow the 'chute is in front of the truck.

    remanufactured M818's for sale???

My M818 came from Andy Cox at army6x6.com. It's a 2006 rebuild and only had approx 1,100 on the odometer when I picked it up. I got in and drove home approx 550 miles over three days without a single problem. Going through the truck you can tell that many parts have been replaced.

    Ridiculous items flagged during inspection

Yes. This is the terminology the mechanic used in his report. My M818 has a canvas roof, so I think I'm going to build a head-ache rack behind the cab and mount my front and rear lights there.
