The light switch, fuel filter and spare tire mount and brace are all indications that the Jeep is pre-1945.

It's been over ten years since I restored an M135 that I've since sold, but I think the pins are just standard clevis pins. They have a rounded (dome shaped) head on one end and a hole for a cotter pin on the other end.

Why won't it work? I was under the impression the starters were interchangable, except they use different length braces.

Could be a poor ground connection, possibly bypassed when jumpimg the batt.

All I could find for my M1008 was M800 covers, so I bought one and put it on. The main problems were in the curtain twist ties. The M1008 twists did not line up with the curtain slots on the front and rear panels, so I forced as many as I could on the front and lucky me had a M880 rear twist...
