I have backed my fuel rate off 8 flats, and I am still topping out at 1250 F when I stay in it. Looks like 2 more flats might have me where I want to be (1150 on a long hill). Without backing off the fuel rate, mine was going to fry the engine.

Considering how many #6 rods come through the blocks......
The knocking means the clearance is too great for the oil film to maintain. You will start battering the bearing, which will increase clearances even more. Now you are putting a shock load on the rod bolts, and they will stretch...
A pressure pot blaster pushes sand. A cheapie siphon blaster sucks it through. On a siphon blaster, covering the nozzle and triggering the air will push the air back through the sand hose to the pot.
Dry sand is critical, and screening it is a must. My 30 year old Sears unit has a built in...
RE: Re: RE: Downshift or not to downshift?
I downshift when the grade slows me down below about 1600 rpm. I only do so to avoid lugging the engine. I downshift when approaching a stoplight just to keep in the correct gear to accelerate out when the light changes. I too have noticed minimal...
Put your finger (wearing a glove) over the nozzle and trigger the gun. You will blow the sand back into the pot. When you start to blast, you won't get the stream of sand for 2-3 seconds. Also a good way to blow back a wet clog of sand. I used a Sears 5 gallon blaster for years, ran Fla. beach...
1 1/8" box wrench fits.I drained the small sump first, then the large. I got 13 gallons out of mine, courtesy of a leaky FDC and a 100 mile trip to Atlanta and back. I now have better oil pressure, and the engine runs fine on the engine drainings!
I found the hose popped off my fuel pump. The pump was working, but the engine was sucking the fuel up through the hose alone. Power increased with the in-tank pump hooked up properly.
OK guys, don't go get all happy using the wrong line for fuel. Polypropylene line will NOT last with diesel. It is not rated for the temperatures nor the hydrocarbons. Poly line is water or air only. DOT air line is designed to hold truck air pressures and temperatures and to be oil and fuel...

The grey is flattening paste, mainly silica. When that stuff has been sitting for a long time, the stuff settles out and hardens like a rock. You need to mix it with a high speed agitator in a drill for about 30 minutes to get everything back into suspension. The clear stuff on top was...
