    Auxillary fuel line for MEP802a

Can anyone give me a good description of the auxillary fuel line for a MEP802a. I see the box where it is supposed to be but nothing there and can't find it in the -10 manual for it. Are there fittings on each end? How long is line? Is there a better fuel line available than what came on it...

Military unit designation code on equipment, how to read

Yeah as it was put into storage status in Dec 2011 as there is paint marker data written on oil filter, fuel filter and water separator indicating all fluids removed at that time. Even if found the personnel that did the downloads have likely been discharged by now. It was impressive of how...

Military unit designation code on equipment, how to read

I have a MEP802a I just got and on it is 9HQ5K2 and I was thinking 9th Div HQ Civil Affairs but this unit was made almost three years after the 9th Div was inactivated so it has to be something else with a 9????? I have been looking through the internet and can't find the website that will help...

MEP802a Just wondering if anyone has used Amsoil ?????

Kind of what I was figuring as well to use the T1 and just go the 250 hour route. Just checked and I have six gallons on board for the backhoe and the generator but will get more. As well you can use oil additives with T1 but with Amsoil it says do not. For the amount of time I would run...

MEP802a Just wondering if anyone has used Amsoil ?????

Going to Bragg to pick up a 802a on Monday with 255 hours on it. I note the Lube Order calls for 250 hour oil changes and 30/15W40 for 32°F and above. Thusly I was looking at Amsoil web site this morning and they list a synthetic heavy duty diesel lube for pre 2007 diesels 15W/40 good to -44°F...

    MEP 803a Fuel Drain?

Now that I have seen a pic of a well nut I agree the Marinetex would not be the option. Up until now I have survived 68 years without ever seeing a well nut haha

Article seems to suggest the MEP 802/803 line leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for replys guys and I read the threads and it seems the 002s and 003s are likely to be fuel pump issues. SIGO sent you a PM Understand about taking care of them for sure. The one I get will be stored in a shop that never gets below 40F and only time it would see rain would be if it...

    MEP 803a Fuel Drain?

If you get Marinetex Gray, I believe it will seal up just fine. It is designed for repairing hulls and fuel tanks at sea. I have used it on plastic and steel tanks and works fine.

MEP017A innovative idea for replacement fuel tank

Was looking around on Craigs list and a guy in Tennessee has a MEP017 for sale with a 7 gal fuel tank. It appears that he got one of the common black plastic tanks like the ones on PowerBack, Sears etc and he mounted the tank at right angles to the engine by attaching to 1" square tubing and...

MEP 017A Hooking up 55 gal drum for extended run question

Chainbreaker, I don't have any trouble with others and will try it again. I am waiting on a response from a buddy who is E7 in Air Force Reserve. He wants to get a MEP as well so I will see if he wants me to order him a 55 gal drum kit as well. I figure such had to be "in the system" and...

MEP 017A Hooking up 55 gal drum for extended run question

I read over the entire index of TM902005-258-14 and only thing fuel line related was par 4-48 and that was a line from the pump to the carb. No the plan is not to store the fuel in the 55 drum. I have about 50 gals in 5 gal cans now for tractor etc as I live 20 miles out of town. I rotate it...

    Newb questions about the MEP017A

FWIW the guy I got mine from stored the 017A in his basement and cranked it every 30 to 60 days year round and left fuel(non ethenol) in the pump/carb as he found if he ran it dry the gaskets went South in fuel pump. With the fuel additives we have now we should be able to store fuel onboard...
