Thanks,. That's what I was afraid of. Running high rpm constantly and bringing a premature death to it,. If anyone is interested, it's going for $450 on the Rapid City CL,. "old military air compressor". 80hrs on the ticker. Talked to the guy today and he picked it up at auction some years...
Found one of these aircraft cabin pressure tester compressor units for really cheap. Tag says 10-400cfm and up to 30 psi. Little digging on net turns up that they are a screw blower after/intercooled driven by gas or diesel engine.
The spec said it was safetied at 70psi.
So,,, can anyone...
Just moved a ticking time bomb out of my back yard.... had a 500gal propane tank filled and a few days later the relief valve malfunctioned and started blowing off. Gas company couldn't scavange the propane off of it so we were forced to move it off the hill to a location where they could get...
That leak isn't too bad,,, my bed is perpetually covered in fluid from leaks that appear one day and disappear the next..... wish I had the money to tear it all down and do it right..
Turbo that 855, you will wonder why you didn't years ago... the 855 is a lot better engine than the 8.3 for what your doing.. the 8.3 survives only because the Allison trans compensates for the smaller engine.
heres a pic of the intake and turbo... and the jakes(orange piece ontop of...
Turbo,
I pulled the manifolds off a scrap NTC350 and run the watercooled intake, minus the watercool portion. When I put it all together I had the mini radiator pressure tested and it leaked, Minimum of $1000 to get a new one and no way to take it apart to fix it... THus I have a HUGE...
Acme:
sounds like you need a multi speed tranny, If your still running mine/back country tours at Elevation, the 5 speed trans, whether manual or auto isn't going to make the engine happy at all. Dropping a 10spd or the 16 speed Cat tranny in there will allow you engine to stay at a happy...
FYI, we don't "all" have those "forms".... An officer will likely take the SD card and include it in the evidence collected at the scene, and submit it in the agency report.... yes, I am forced to work for an alphabet agency for my day job..
chain of custody forms are only good for the...
If I was closer I would offer to take the eaton 6spd off your hands for extra $$ to toss at the tranny swap... need a 6406 or 8406 OD Eaton to replace the 2nd NV4500 in my Daily Driver in my sig....
Looking forward to seeing this OTR tranny project come to life, torn between a Eaton 10spd or...
As for the linkages sticking,,, depending on where in TX you are the humidity can play into effect.
The tank valve is a known problem.. I just dumped mine and ran stainless AN 10 line from tank to a spin on filter then to PT pump and my system is a lot happier. the selector valve is a know...
My NTC/NHC 250 has been turbo'd with NHC 350 parts.-manifold, intake etc.
I see 900-1000*F when pulling, estimated 60K gross truck trailer and dozer. Empty is about the same on the hills.
Idle is around 200*F
Pyro is mounted approx. 2.5" downpipe of the turbo. (couldn't get the plug out of the...
The 6.2 is a good economiser,. Before I swapped the Cummins in mine I had a 6.2 th400 for a short time,. The 400 was ok but it robbed the 6.2 of its fuel economy. So I swapped in the sm465/np204 when I converted mine to 4x4. Then found a GM3 mechanical waste gate turbo setup off a 93 GM 6.5...
Glad I could be an inspiration to you. (82 chevy 3+3)
Mine used to be state dot yellow too, had a couple gallons of green laying around one afternoon.
Bed is a shortened M105, with 6" out of the front, and 7-8" out of the rear, total 8' inside length, added a dump cyl underneath and now...
Full service on these trucks is extremely important... sounds like you got lucky with at least one box having lube in it and only being low... CSMdavis is a good guy to talk to from time to time... he knows every lube point very intimately on these older 809s and 816s... The scarecity of...
I second that one,,, had mine relined for around $125 and used them for about a week,, found out that if they were adjusted enough to work on flat ground or a mild grade, then they would rub and burn on the drum running down the highway... thus they are backed of now. still toying with the...
Actually there will be 4 bolts holding the power divider to the box. Like Red said, I put a 4x4 post from the spare tire over to the crane and used a heavy ratchet strap to suspend the divider. don't get under it as it weighs in around 100# and lineing it up is a bear.
The military parts...
