I was trying to list this in the classifieds but I would have to list each panel separately. Admins let me know if it is ok for me to list it this way. I am selling the body panels I had just gotten for my M1009. The rockers and inner fender will fit any of the other trucks. I have 10 panels and...
I am getting rid of it cause I have finally said enough. I have put 1-2k in it over the last 3 years or more every year and it still needs about another 2k so I am done, the truck will unfortunately be going to be destroyed through the CFC program. I will be getting $4500 credit towards a new...
I have one that I don't need, you can have it if you can come and get it. I cut the mount plates out with the plasma cutter, cause I was going to make it fit my m1009. Since I am getting rid of the M1009 I don't need it. I can weld those back on and it is yours. I will take a pic of it later...
No offence guys but I kinda have to laugh. The starters are no specialized piece of govt equipment. The 24v starter I am about to list for sale was bought at AutoZone. I bought my M1009 in Germany from DRMO/DRMS back in 99 when they still conducted the auctions themselves and I never had to sign...
I will post some pictures tonight. I am hoping the exhaust comes in today as well as the shocks. We went for the economy muflers. Being that this truck in now stored inside everything I am doing should last. I am getting ready to head up there to finish taking the pipes off of the headers. I...
It was  I had a couple bolts that weren't cooperating so blew the heads off with the plasma cutter and since the exhaust wasn't comming apart I went ahead and cut it off with the cutter. All I have left to take off is the pipes that connect to the headers. I sprayed them down with some...
thanks tourdog, just did that this morning, and it was $400.26 with the tax exemption, so it all should be in tommorrow, and I hope that it will only take about an hour since we have the bed off the truck right now. I am just going to sawzall the old one out to save some time. I would use the...
My firecomany's M1028 needs an exhaust, and I am currently having a tough time finding one. We have talked to the local exhaust shop, and they don't seem real interested in helping much. At least not unles it is for a good buck. They started talking about $1000 without even opening a book and...
Thought about that but then I need to get something rigged up for an exhaust system since the banks changes that. I have to look at the fact that I am throwing money into a 24 yr old vehicle. which has cost me an average of $1000-$1500 a year for the past couple years, and this year I think it...
Waller I will let you know. I am still trying to figure out what to do.
On the cash for clunkers part, from what I have read, the truck should qualify, and at that point I would step down to a small car. it is an 86 suv, that I have owned and insured for 10 years. On the Side-by-Side...
Tommorrow morning I am going to pull the intake side off and look at it, with Banks stating that they no longer sell rebuild kits for it, and a new turbo would be $1100.
I am now debating on whether to keep the truck, sell the truck and all parts I have for it, or turn it in for the $4500 for...
I am guessing that my new sound that I heard yesterday is the turbo. It sounds like a loud sucking noise when under load. I checked quick yesterday to see if I saw anything noticable and didn't. Today on my way home it was the same and I noticed that the boost gauge is reading lower than normal...
There is a place in the next town that I have been told can do mandrel bending. Well at least it sounds like it talking to my dad. He said they load what you need into the computer and then bend your pipe to fit what you need. I will have to go and check tommorrow. I am just trying to keep the...
While we are talking about exhausts how hard is it to change a M1028 over to single. I have been doing the bodywork on my fire company's M1028 utility truck and the exhaust is shot. They asked me today about converting to a single pipe or keep it duals while we have the bed off. They are more...
They are the standard group 31 optima yellow tops. The plate of steel I put on the battery tray gave them a nice flat surface to sit on. Then welded a couple of threaded tabs to screw the battery top to. With them sitting flat the intake kinda just fit nicely under the corner of the front...
Airmech I will post pics tommorrow morning of mine. I have the yellow top group 31's and the banks turbo. You will need to make a new top for the batteries and add a plate on the bottom so they have a nice smooth base to sit on.
