I have seen this done as well. Buddy of mine has a manual tranny mated to an automatic tranny. Lowest gear is reverse/reverse, somewhere around 250:1 crawl ratio. Its a 4x4 though.
Mine? Yes, as far as I can tell it is stock. I'm not the original owner, so things may have been tweaked here and there.
Free flowing exhaust is the only 'modification'
Only thing I don't like about the 6.2 is lack of acceleration up hill on the road. Then again, I am running 42's with 4.56 gears in heavy M1028a1.
Off road, the 6.2 is nothing to shake a stick at in 4 low, I love it when it comes to that.
I'm also getting around 16-18 MPG with 42's and 4.56's...
Yikes, if I was going to replace shackles and drive it I'd wanna do it right. Get some real shackles, thats a safety issue.
If you were going to trailer it, then yeah...throw whatever holds it together on there and call it good.
I need one too, fluid pump went out.
Probably going to order this one, its cheap. A-1 CARDONE 100-40182 - A1 Cardone Remanufactured Windshield Wiper Motors - Overview - SummitRacing.com
I have a 1979 Chevy, the motors look very similar... I might check and see if it works.
I'm thinking I'll just get an A-1 Cardone re-manufactured box from Summit when I do my crossover steering.
But, if you find someone with a bunch of 2wd boxes let me know [thumbzup]
Got a 3/8 to 1/2 socket converter, 30mm socket and managed to make a mess changing the transfer case fluid. Shot out further than I expected and missed my bucket lol.
I've never had any engine that didn't have a smokey crankcase with the filler cap off. Especially after sitting in one spot running for awhile. My take on it... if it isn't knocking and still moves, drive on.
Id like to know where to hook up sending units for engine temperature and oil pressure, I don't like not being able to see that.
Also want to make sure that when I go crossover, will any 1985 2wd box work?
Thanks.
