OK. The UPS wheels are 22.5" tubeless. Can't use standard 20" tires on them. Tubeless one piece wheels have to have a "drop center" to allow the tire bead to be worked over the edge of the wheel without destroying it. 20" lock ring wheels do not have this drop center area. You can widen stock...
RE: Looking at getting a Deuce, how much did you get yours f
Bought mine from an individual seller in Montgomery Al. Drove it home with my Nissan pickup behind on a towbar. $3K. Runs great, had a new cap top (vinyl), single 1100 radials, spring drivers seat. Clear title.
Couldn't be happier...
Don't know, I'll see what I can stir up. You could mount a remote oil pressure gauge from the filter to the dash so you could monitor the filter condition.

The thread on the IP lube line shows a possible location to plug in a bypass oil filter. Run the IP oil line to a filter assy, return back to the IP. 1/8NPT should flow about 15 gpm, turning over the oil volume...
If everything is in good shape, you can lock the winch spool in place with the lock, turn the worm shaft by hand in "power out cable" direction, and the worm will push the rear bearing out of the case and you can "unscrew it" from the bull gear.
That is assuming everything is clean, oily, non...
The gearbox internals and engines will more than likely be toast. Body panels can be salvages, but if all gears and bearings are shot, plus the entire electrical system...........
Gets expensive quick!
Glad you made it home in one piece. I think you would have had a loooong day changing those tires by yourself! It was a job with 4 of us doing it. Really cool truck, glad I could be a part of the recovery.
This is fun stuff!
Don't know what effect some alcohol would have in a diesel engine. I guess not too much shouldn't be an issue, as alcohol is used to keep fuel lines from freezing up.
Hmm, that is definately a good question. My first guess would be that it is too high volume for the M211, but, I don't know for sure. Does the M211 have a return line to the tank? If not, I would bet you will be getting way too much volume and pressure.
You're right Clinto. I saw a M123 at Shirleys one time that had that mount. So, it is correct and military for the cab, if not necessarily for the deuce.
That mount looks like it has been bent forward to clear the rear body, the M123 wouldn't need that modifcation.
Xylol or naptha are both fairly slow solvents. They give good wetting, and allow the paint to flow out nicely. Down side is you are more likely to run the paint in those conditions. 60 degree weather is a little colder than I like to paint in. If you just have to, use a faster solvent, unleaded...
You know, Dmetalmiki may be on to a good idea. Do his conversion on the filter housings, then install a remote bypass filter like Devilman. If you don't like the look of the short housings, you could build up a "port connector" that would join the inlet and outlet ports together and be retained...
