Cutting with torch, need advice,1st time.

It can be done, but the torch has to maintain a constant distance from the steel. If you are cutting corrugated, you will have to move the torch up and down with the corrugation pattern. If there is flat sheet over the corrugations, it will have to be cut loose first. You will not be able to cut...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

I'm preparing to do a 11" wheel next week. I am not planning on drilling out the rivets and removing the extra center from the weld on portion of the donor wheel. I am planning on using a parting tool on the lathe to cut the center out about 1/2" from the rivets. I will leave the rivets and the...

R6602 Gasser In A Bobbed Deuce???

The old 300 Ford six or the 292 Chevy six would be good choices. I know of a bobbed deuce with the 300, owner used the ford OD manual tranny when he built it.

    Tire comparison picture

I went after 6 for $300, ended up with 9 for $350. Then got 6 of the 10" flaps for $10 each. Got them from a guy in Phenix City Al. I got all he had. Can't remember his E-Bay handle, but he always gives his location as 100 miles S of Atlanta. I have 2 75% tires, the rest are 40-45%. Fine for my use.

    Tire comparison picture

Bjorn, the 14.50R20's I picked up are right at 44" tall and 14" -15" wide. They might be what you need. The 395's would also work, I think they are 45-46" tall.

    Remote Oil Filters...Done.

If you're worried about the cross drilled holes not being enough, it would be easy to slot the bolt on a mill and gain some surface area.

The turbo I swapped from Marksgarage is still going strong. I was glad to trade with him, didn't even think twice about it! Love that nice, non-screaming D turbo!

J pipe replacement on a deuce?

RE: J pipe replacement on a duce? Usually pretty easy. There is a band clamp at the turbo flex pipe, a hanger under the fender, then the external stuff. Desdert Rat and I pulled off 2 complete exhausts at Howards in 30 minutes, didn't even have any penentrant spray. Broke a couple of hanger...

    WTB - M35A3 Rims

Not sure, but REOM34 (a member in Spain) is looking for just the rings off some of the old combat wheels. He bought a load of NOS surplus from the Spanish Govt., got 7 NOS wheels, but no rings! If anyone can help him, PM either one of us.

    WTB - M35A3 Rims

Good luck finding them. They bring exorbitant prices if you can even find them. I'd jump all over them if I could find them for $100 each, which I can't. Every blue moon or so a few show up on GL.

    M36, M36A2 Bed.

Probably be easier to find one of the long 5 ton beds. They seem to be more common than M36 stuff.
