Steve,
Bless you brother!! I will get this for you as quickly as possible. The truck and tanks are out of town right now but I should have it back later this week. Thanks again. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT !! :D

I can't logically figure this one out so I need some help from the gurus. As many of you know, our FD has purchased this M813 for a brush truck. Our water tanks are two, 600 gallon military fuel pods that are designed for these 5 tons (or M35's). So combined, you have 1,200 gallons of water on...
Wow Mass, Sorry to hear about your problem. I feel even worse because I think that I amy have jinxed you. We were talking last night about what class of drivers license was needed and I made the comment that a class B was needed (in Texas) but that most law enforcement officials would probably...
Hey Ted. I am not shure about Michigan, here in Texas, anything over 26,001 lbs GVW has to have Class B and a Class A if combination with trailer. But I am like most guys on here. I don't think most law enforcement will give you any flak. In Texas, the only people that might give you a second...
Thanks Joe. I will try that. We have a Cummins dealer in Fort Worth so I will stop by there in the truck on my way back home. Seems like all of our brush trucks are prone to overheat but they are one ton gassers. Lots of muck gets in the radiator. I a very partial to this M813 (even though it is...
No, I am not sure if it is primer but he said that the truck had 3 or 4 coats of paint and the first coat that is adhered to the metal is whats not coming off. He hasn't got to the cab and chassis yet, he just messing with the bed right now. Dixie, we are going back with Dupont red and black and...
Joel,
I have been thinking of recessing a grover air horn in the bumper on this 5 ton. I plan on making the hole just large enough for the rim of the horn to mount flush with the bumper, (like on the bumper horns on some of the newer fire apparatus). Has anybody done this and will this horn put...
The guy from the soda blasting company called earlier and it seems that he has met his match with the M813. Earlier this week, he said the paint was going to be "no problem". Well, he called earlier today and said that the paint was coming off with no problem but the dark green "primer" was...
Today, I drove the 5 ton on a 70 mile journey to the sand/soda blasting company and had a great trip with the exception of one problem. Since I have not had this truck out on the road all that much, I kept a close eye on the guages. for about the first 50 miles, the truck ran at 200 degrees. Two...
I'd say the heater core could possibly be stopped up. If you've ran any radiator sealer or "stop leak" in your radiator, this might be your problem. I have dealt with this problem several times in the past and it just needed to have the "junk" flushed from the core. Hope this helps.
