    Two Are Better Than One!

I've bought two M35A2 out of Ft. McCoy, WI that look like that. There was a pile of them there. The one my buddy got has a diesel fired heater and it's insulated looked to be a medic truck. Mine was un-insulated, had cabinets in it, looked to be the NBC truck. We both pulled them & are using...

    Deuce Drop sides

That could be the case. But, wouldn't a winch be a good thing on a drop side deuce. Would make it more of a tool then just a transport vehicle. :deadhorse: Why do you need a winch on a truck that most likely will never need it? :deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse:

    Deuce Drop sides

For some reason,it's not often you see a factory dropside winch equipped truck, any thoughts as to why not?[/QUOTE My guess would be, a drop side would be more of a support truck. A winch isn't really needed for remf's.

    new Lexan Window replacement

I run a 653e JD cut to length tree harvester. Tree limbs are smacking the windows all day. Believe me there are differnt grades of lexan. I broke a front window and replaced it with some lexan we had at the shop. It didn't last an hour. Got another piece from the auto glass shop and it's been in...

Alternate Use of the Multi-Fuel Engine????

Use the engine to it's full potential. My friend who did the LDT in the crane, built a shop out of a pole shed. He put in floor heat in the new concrete floor. To heat the floor he used a generator engine with bad generator. He ran old anti freeze in the floor and circulated it through the...

Alternate Use of the Multi-Fuel Engine????

A friend of mine put one in a tracked cable crane at their families marina. He loved the engine, he is the best diesel mechanic in our area. Now him & his dad our on the outs, so he out of the marina. Needless to say I'm not welcome there either to take a picture. So don't give me "this thread...

    Got some 11.00 x 20s

Safe way to air up split rim. Here is a tip for not getting killed or maimed from a split ring. Roll tire to a safe location, use a lock on air chuck, set an air regulator to desired pressure, walk a way.

When starting, yell "FIRE IN THE HOLE"

My 550 Oliver stack is bent back just a smidge, so if your quick enough you can catch the can after start up. My 653E John Deere exhaust has a short piece of 6" through the cowling. The exhaust pipe is centered blows through it, faces back when hauling on the low boy. So I made wood cover with...

Tracked trailer, ever seen one of these??

Just looking at picture 5 of 6, looks like the track needs to be adjusted. I wonder how that pulls? Dry I bet wouldn't be bad, but really muddie clay I bet those tracks would slide. I know when I use to run small old dozers, they would roll faster than you would think they ever would. if you got...

    Tilting Deuce Hood?

Anybody try making a M35A2 hood, grill and fenders into a tilt hood? I know it would be pretty heavy, maybe hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical lift of some kind. Any thoughts or seen it done? Think it would be nice feature.

    lots of deuce questions!

DirtyDawg, A couple things on fuel economy: 1. Don't load higher than the top of the cab. (wind drag) 2. Single the truck out with 11.00-20's (less drag, will up the speed 4 mph, so you can back out of the foot feed some.) 3. Locking hubs. (less drag in drive line) 4. Use synthetic bearing...

    Trailer Idea

Josh, Looking in my Ryerson catalog C6 X .437 web thick X 2.157 Flange, 13Lbs. per foot, stock lengths 20', 40' & 60'. Many sizes available from the west coast in 30' & 50'. Myself I would use a wider web C8 or better, this should take some of the whip and flex outside trailer rails.
