The answer to the question why, well I like lifted truks and my M1009 so why not, the best both worlds. I used to be a purist, you know keep it all original. Buy why it is my truck, I drive it everyday. So I will make it what I want it to be and look like.

Any one know where I can get some nutzerts and screws that hold the fiberglass side boards and bow pockets on. I need 6. Not sure what they are called. But I know them as nutzerts

For anyone how has installed a 6" lift on there M1009, did you have to do any drive shaft work.

Thats what i thought was going on, because when it is warmer out it does not smoke.

I am getting white smoke from both tail pipes, when I start my truck and it is cold out. Any thoughts? Normal? It did not do this until my glow plugs started going bad and even now that I changed to all new ones.

Yes i was planning on going with a dana 60 front and a full floater 14 bolt rear anyways. Just thinking out load about the duramax swap.

Trying to figure out what is going on with my M1009. It whants to pull to the right when going down the road, it does it more when the tempertures out side are realy cold than when it is warmer. I do not think it is a break caliper sticking because it will do it way down the road after breaking...

Any one ever installed a duramax and alison in a M1009. Is there enough room to fit this set up in the wheel base of a M1009?

I probably know what the right answer to this question is but, can a M1009 tow a Mep 003a gen mounted on a M116a2 trailer. I am looking to get a gen mounted on a trailer just was wandering if i could tow it behind my M1009 ocasionaly, not every day or real fare. Thanks

I always use the Elkton dmv they are a lot more layed back than the others and are normaly not packed with people. And very helpfull.

What fluid do you use in these gov lock rears? Regular gear oil? Is there a way to check the oil level ?

It is the stock rear never been changed will try to get it jacked up this coming week and see what i can figure out. I do have a gm 3/4 ton full floater rear waiting to go in, no locker and not the same gear as the front axel. Was waiting untill i could get a 1 ton dana 60 front axel and...
