Feeler: Turbo kit for the Diesels

Send me the drawings. I can machine them. AutoCAD 2004 Lite, so it has to be 2D.

Deuces on GL at Forest Park Ga.

All There are a couple of M35 winch trucks at Forest Park, in Atlanta. Fort Gillem to be exact. Most of those trucks are in decent shape. If anyone wants to bid on one, I can collect the truck for them and tow it to my place for later pickup. I will also help with getting the truck ready to...

    Wheel studs

I just checked mine again, the fronts are reversed from the rears. The rears are LH thread on the right side, RH thread on the left. The fronts are wrong, someone must have mixed up the hubs when they worked on the front end. So, I was wrong about the studs, sorry! I still look for the L on...

    Wheel studs

Bjorn- Are you sure about the threads? The nut is supposed to tighten as the wheel rolls forward. My truck has RH threads on the Left side, LH threads on the Right. This was especially true on cars with the center "knock off" hubs. Towing one rear wheels up (car backwards) could run off a wheel...

Ouverson Lock outs HEAVY DUTY SEALED 575 bucks!!

Actually, a bronze oilite bushing is good for years of service. The reason I am using bushings is because it allows me to modify stock deuce driveshaft parts, not to have to build new ones. I am mainly building something for those of us who spend most of their time on the road, and only need...

    Wheel studs

If there is a bunch of paint on the threads, you may need to take a wire brush on a drill and clean them up. I have taken a torch and burned off the paint, then soaked them down with Liquid Wrench. If you are good with a torch, you can wash the nut off without damaging the wheel. Try to split...

Ouverson Lock outs HEAVY DUTY SEALED 575 bucks!!

I looked at the Remco driveshaft disconnect. Funny, I was designing the same setup myself, although with a different shifting mechanism. Just goes to show there's nothing new under the Sun. At least it validates my concept. The Remco product uses sealed roller or ball brgs. because the...

And, you are bidding on which one? If you are serious, you need to post which auction you are bidding on.

    Set of M135 rims $?

The M135 wheel is setup to run as a single. You cannot run them as duals. I believe Bjorn (Cranetruck) has written that there is a 2" difference in the offset. I see regular deuce wheels with fair/decent old tires for $15 to $25 each. If you are wanting to run 1100 singles, the M135 wheels are...

    LD vs. LDT Pistons

A lot of the older trucks dumped the exhaust behind the rear tandems. I have seen M35A1's that did not have the hole in the fender. Depends when they were made. I have seen fenders (not gassers) that have had the exhaust pipe hole torched through and the 2 little trim pieces installed. These...

    A link to Remco?

    LD vs. LDT Pistons

There is no difference. The turbos were retrofits onto the LD engines. I believe the pump timing is a little different. I have seen deuces with the exhaust pipe hole torched through the fender, indicating trucks that originally had the LD engine.

Ouverson Lock outs HEAVY DUTY SEALED 575 bucks!!

Mine went up almost 1mpg when I installed de-splined hubs. Putting in a double splined rear axle and a lockout on one rear wheel will gain some mpg, and greatly reduce tire scrub when turning. I believe Bjorn and Kenny have tighter turning radii with that setup.

    Deuce Parts - EBAY SCAM

I checked his profile, he hasn't left feedback for anyone in a couple of years. If I ever do buy anything from him, I won't leave any feedback for him, unless it's negative. I did see several people left negative feedback for never receiving their merchandise. I also saw a few for defective...

Your help would be greatly appreciated

I paid 3K$ for mine and drove it home. 1967, multifuel engine, etc. Although that truck has a couple of winches and a hard top, it does not look worth that much. Keep an eye on our classifieds, E-Bay, etc. There are a lot nicer trucks out there for that amount of money.

    Multifuel engine intercooler

Bjorn Try removing the mushroom from the intake side of the filter hsg. I'd bet the perforated metal screen is restricting the flow some. You could also drop the filter canister completely and clamp on a K&N to check restriction from the canister itself. You would need to hook up your...

Rejuvenating Batteries - How do you do it?

Disposing of old acid is a problem. It must be neutralized with caustic (CAREFULLY!!), then treated to precipitatre the lead. The lead is an EPD hazmat, so must be dealt with appropriately. My main concern would be getting stranded by a "rejuvenated" battery. I will be replacing my 6TL and...

    Multifuel engine intercooler

So a filter that flows 800cfm at initial install with a low suction pressure should be a good thing. Agreed?

    progress report(updated)

I learned to weld with a cutting torch and a coat hanger. My great auntie (died last year at 98 yrs) worked in the Panama City shipyard during WW2. I learned how to gas weld, and my great uncle taught me how to splice wire rope. I can lap a carburator needle and seat with toothpaste, pour the...
