    Running Hmmwv wheels question

I would recommend, getting new O rings... they did run about $5 each on the net... and during installation, ensure O ring stays in groove.... it kinda tricky if your not familar with them... one more note, Now, this isnt required, but will save you alot of time, sweat, and bloody...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

GreggVA.. I think you are on the right track.... if the cables, and connections are good, and both batteries are fully charged, and still get the.....rah-rum....pause....rah-rum...pause... I would look to getting another starter, and than have the existing one rebuild and keep as a spare....

Replacement of Hi/Low beam switch on steering colum

Like Kingchr said... VERY easy fix... the only thing i would add would be to apply some tape to HIgh/Low beam rod, as so it wont fall out... it will be a pain to put back in... replace switch.. the bolt holes are slotted for adjustment, just ensure you test it to ensure it works...

    M1009 Steering

i would check/replace the rest of your steering components, tie rod ends, Drag link, etc. as over time these parts do wear down, unless you have changed them out already, When i first got mine, it had same issues, done a complete rebuild of those parts... it worked like new afterwards....

    85' M1009 build thread

Its one i picked up from Summit... Part number is ATM-2697 I got it only because it matched in size and design with the rest of my gauges.... In order for it to work, i also had to get a signal convertor from Dakota Digital... there are several threads on here that discusses tach options...

M1009 axle swap with H1 37's...Oh my what gear ratio to run...?

Asmoday.. you are correct... there are 2 ways to go to install the 4L80. One would be getting a stand alone computer. It can be had for around $600 and up... however you will also have to fab up a throttle position sensor, and a speed sensor in order for it to shift/work correctly... 2nd...

M1009 axle swap with H1 37's...Oh my what gear ratio to run...?

I think your on the right path... but..... Speaking from experience, running H1's, 37's and 4.56 gears, you will not want to run long term down the highway at those speeds.. It really begs for another gear... IMHO... Adding a gear vendor OD or swapping to a 4L80 will get you where you want...

Hey guys, been a while. Figured I'd show off where I'm at with the 1008

I would go with #1 Also, you would want to confirm if it was from a 6.5L, If not the torque converter will do you no good.. and you would have to get one that's made for 6.5L diesel... Maybe able to get it a little cheaper... if you know what I mean....;)

Hey guys, been a while. Figured I'd show off where I'm at with the 1008

yeah.... the GV are.... kinda pricey... but you can find deals with used ones on... fleabay... Just reuse your TC adapter... it will bolt up.. only thing is.. you will have to have the outer ring of your TC adapter, facing the 4l80 , cut like .060 of an inch that's what i'm going to...

Hey guys, been a while. Figured I'd show off where I'm at with the 1008

Now with gear vendors... its basically an external OD unit... and it comes with it own controller.. it gives you the ability for auto or manual shifting.. how it works, is it reads your speed and gear ratio and kind a works like a transfer case... meaning... When you are at a stand still at...
