    Classified Posting Rule

    I just posted what I thought. Didn't know I was going to hear the constant drumming of "that's how it is deal with it" from a couple of you. Thought I was sharing my opine, best not to, huh? Maverick, I am a Real Estate Broker, and own a company called Revolutionary Realty, in North Idaho. I...

    Classified Posting Rule

    Yes, I understand that they won't change the rule, and that I am complaining. I SUPPOSE that when the Revolutionaries "complained" there were people that siad "nothing can be done", too. Same thing with soldiers, they complain, and get the "nothing can be done" line until at some point, common...

    Classified Posting Rule

    While I realize that someone has abused the system, and evidently that's why are required to yak about everything on this site in order to get to 100 posts to post classified, I think it's seriously unfair to those of us that have been coming to this site for years. I also realize that by...

    Speedo Fix.

    Flyingvan- I was pretty surprised about it myself. I had resigned myself to the fact that I'd have to have them both redone etc, so this was a good thing. Glad you got yours working, too, without a lot of headache, sounds like.

    Speedo Fix.

    OK folks, I have one I think you might like. Had my 86 dashboard apart, replacing bulbs, installing new lense etc, and a replacement fuel gauge. My speedo always read wrong, and made irritating scratchy noises while I was going down the road, and I'm too cheap to have it rebuilt. Took it...

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    McCluskey- Sorry, I've got 2 trucks.... The trip was a lot of fun; done a bunch of them, hope to do more, too. You have fun with yours, too; Mac.

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    Me too. 19 hours @ an average of 61.42 MPH. I'm amazed it was that fast. The pass going from Idaho into Montana was freezing rain on top of hardpack snow, the roads south of SLC (Provo area) are all under construction, and the Great Salt Lake had fog you could eat. But I likes my...

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    Recovery Successful Drove my new M1009 1167 hellish long miles overnight through sleet, freezing rain & fog home from Nellis/Vegas last night. LONG trip, Salt Lake City has BAD roads and even WORSE fog late at night. David & Omar did a great job on my rig, their prices were fair, they held to...

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    I'll shoot you guys an email on my experience with them. They are the second company I am dealing with there; the first one failed, miserably. Sent the guy out to Nellis to inspect; and TOLD HIM that the batts were 24VDC, and to MAKE SURE he would be able to jump them (2 batterys, 2 sets of...

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    M35- I had a company do it that I found on Craigslist; they're actually pretty good; there's two guys I worked with, Omar & david. Number is 702-433-5005. All fluids changed except trans & new brakes front & rear just under $800.00. Normally, I'd want to do this myself & save the money; put in...

    Nellis AFB M1009 Recovery

    On Tuesday; I'll be leaving for Nellis from Coeur d'Alene, ID to pick up my #2 M1009. Won it in the beginning of December, EUC just came through. I want to drive it home, so I hired a small company to go & get it from Nellis for me yesterday. They inspected it; I had them puere's what we...

    MAJOR Internal Rust (Engine)

    Greetings all- Yesterday, I wanted to fix a front main leak on my 1986 M1009. We took off the timing cover; and....ooops. The timing gear & injection pump gear were covered, and I mean like ridiculous overgrown monster covered in rust. This stuff was fairly nutso. Making a long story short...

    Experience=Mistakes Made

    Neg Post on Batt 2, which is where the terminal block above the GP Relay gets it's 12VDC power. It's 12VDC as it's the positive side of Bat 1/Neg of Bat 2. I got 12VDC, made sure of it by Fluke MM. Is there a reason I should be on the positive post on Batt 1 instead of Neg on Batt 2, Doghead?

    Experience=Mistakes Made

    Doghead- Thanks kindly for the knowledge. I never would have figured that the resistance from the glow plugs + the resistor would have dropped the voltage that much, and that's why I assumed that I did something really wrong when it stopped working. SOMETHING happened, as prior to my using new...

    Experience=Mistakes Made

    Dunedigger- I metered 24VDC at the relay, (23.6VDC to be exact) on the big wire coming from the firewall. The 13VDC I got was coming in from the trigger, from the controller. Man, I still don't GET what happened today..... I'll order the tool & have it shipped pronto; but you don't think I...

    Experience=Mistakes Made

    I read a BUNCH of stuff on here after I started having issues this morning. Thanks for the tip, I've been living on this site since I got into thiese things. The suite is an awesome asset. A couple of things- You say the glow plugs are 12V, right? The relay that runs them has 24VDC coming to it...

    Experience=Mistakes Made

    This morning, after doing a lot of work on my M1009, I decided to go ahread & replace the Glowplugs on my CUCV. I had bought 3 sets of ACDelco 11G (60G) Glowplugs, and since my rig was starting a little slow, I thought I'd fix that. So, I installed them. Cut off the ends, replaced the ends...

    M1009 Value

    I was going to sell my 1009, had it on craigslist & on here at $3500.00. 97K miles, no rust, a great rig. Ended up liking it so much I am keeping it & buying another one, recovering from Nellis as soon as my EUC is approved. (yes my wife hates me) I would price your truck at $3500+ & make sure...

    M1009 Door Adjustment

    Just got back. Bought the bushingsd first ($3.99) & tried to put them on. The problem was trying to remove both of the washers from the original bolt/strikers. First thinner one comes out easy, the other one didn't. Went back in (O'Reilly's) and bought two of them preassmbled for $7.99 each...

    M1009 Door Adjustment

    Thank you.... Thanks Greg, the pins are tight, that's the first thing I thougth might be the issue. I think Taylor has it right, there's a set of white plastic grommets that go over the striker. I'll find out today...
