    HydroBoost Question

Hey all, I am planning to swap out the engine to my cucv (cummins 12V) but I am asking this question here because all I would like to know is which lines are high pressure and low pressure lines on the hydroboost AND power steering box? I need to figure out the plumping, but I could not find any...

M1009 VS M1008 Bed Rail Strength

    Anyone have any thoughts?

M1009 VS M1008 Bed Rail Strength

Hey all. To those of you that have been around both the M1008 and M1009 can anyone vouch their opinion on whether the Blazer's bed rail strength is as good as the pickup? If one were to mount a ladder rack or some other bed rail utility item, can it hold as much as on a pickup? Some of those...

NV4500 swaps and clutch pedal specific questions

Howdy everyone, I know that swapping a NV4500 is pretty popular when going to manual on squarebodies, but let's take a moment to discuss the specifics on an overlooked topic. What exactly is the easiest way to get that clutch pedal into your truck? What did you buy? Can you keep the original GM...

    M1009 tailgate lock replacement question

I have a spare tailgate to replace my old rusted one, but the catch was that there's no key for the [great shape] crank assembly. My question is if it's possible to replace the cylinder (which I have) without the original key to that tailgate? Don't you have to twist it with the original key to...

TH400 to 4L80E Swap for dummies, help needed (crossmembers)

Awesome write up!! But only one more thing... I asked this question a while back on other K5 forums as well as here if I recall if there is a such thing as a 4 speed column... I did get answers that said that the shift notches are caused by the trans, and not the actual column, thus there isn't...

TH400 to 4L80E Swap for dummies, help needed (crossmembers)

did you need to machine anything? Because if I am not mistaken, if you use an adapter to go from 4l80e to np208, the height of that adapter might be different... at least in the case of an m1009, so maybe a 1008 crossmember might be a good option?

TH400 to 4L80E Swap for dummies, help needed (crossmembers)

Hey all, I have a question about swapping an M1009's TH400 to a 4L80E transmission mated to an np205 tcase. There were some writeups on this site on how the swap went, but nothing went too deep into the crossmember and transfer case support. I plan on swapping to a np205 when performing the...

    M1009 frame question

Hey all, I wanted to ask this for myself and for the many others that are probably wondering the same thing. Some of us know that the m1009, or the K5 Blazer, does not have a very strong frame, especially near the power steering pump, where they are prone to crack. However, I am curious as to...

    Foot vent rain water leaks

cucvrus, I got a chance to start looking into the problem now that the heat has started to pass in my town. I am looking at the pictures you sent. Isn't that lip in the first picture supposed to stop the rain water from getting to the vents when in a parked position? Also, do you know if they...

    Wiper motor overheating?

I still have to attempt that test, perhaps tomorrow. But it really makes you wonder, why the old wiper motors run so darn good, and don't get hot! I'll try it out sometime. Either way, weird stuff, that's for sure...

    Wiper motor overheating?

Fuse box was in great shape, I even cleaned it up a bit with no change, bypassed the capacitors and whatnot, cleaned the connectors yadda yadda yadda

    Wiper motor overheating?

Okay everyone, I'm starting to get very weirded out by my wipers. Let me explain. So I actually installed the OLD one OEM with the truck from 1984... The thing wipes like no tomorrow... SO FAST!!! So fast in fact the wiper blades are hitting the sides of the windshield gasket the whole time. The...

    Time starter relay for anti-theft...?

x2 on the injection pump switch that you can hide. Also if you were very serious about the anti theft mechanisms, have you considered checking out a shop that installs anti theft systems?

    47,000 miles?

I also think that this truck truly is 47,000. Depending on where you live or how you want to treat the truck, a few cans of rust converter paint, a wire wheel and some elbo grease goes a long way to make all those body parts last. I also pray my underside with cosmoline for added corrosion...

    Wiper motor overheating?

I can give that a try, but that of course means the wipers will not turn off. But I suppose it would be a good chance to see if it stops working. I just wonder why it stops but then actually starts again. Considering that there are no circuit breakers that is

    Wiper motor overheating?

I'll give it a go in the morning, although if it doesn't, it's going to definitely become harder to solve... I saw on the civvy version, some had actual circuit breakers. The CUCV doesn't have any do they? I ask because the wiper motor will indeed start working again after it cools/un stalls. I...

    Wiper motor overheating?

I am going to resurrect this old thread and talk about what has been happening. My wiper motor still does this, and I've replaced it with an ACDelco one. The wiper linkages were all greased with lithium, and I did remove and cowl and it was all clean under there. Wiper linkages shows little to...

    Foot vent rain water leaks

Hello folks, yet another question to add to this ever growing forum. I am sure this is not a new question, and I did look up this question online with varying levels of success, but I thought I would get a fresh set of opinions. When it rains I get water that comes in through the foot vents...

    4L80E swap shifter column question

Wow thanks y'all! I am guessing I know there is some kind of indentation to get out of park and to go from neutral to reverse... I am guessing on the 3 speed and 4 speed variants of the column that those indents were indeed in the same place?
