I want to keep my camping supplies in it. Maybe in totes or something to help keep mice and bugs out. Possibly a small generator up front. I just get tired of dragging stuff out and having to put it up when we get home. My oldest is a Cub Scout so we are car camping at least 2-3 times a year...
I assume you are pulling with the truck in your avatar. If that is the case then the modified 105 will make sense. Just remember that you may need a stool to reach the top of your cabinets. I am pulling with a suburban most of the time and will not have air brake capabilities. Plus the less...
The trailer in the original post made it to Alaska on the Alcan Hwy convoy. It was loaded down pretty good too. Check out the pics of it. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?91963-M1010-ready-for-ALASKA
Are you putting the bed on a trailer chassis or a different truck? I am fixing to put one Ina M101 chassis. Mine needs new T-handle latches as well. I have done some looking around but since the body isn't at my house I don't have measurements of the existing handles. I gotta get my trailer...
Here it is. Needs most or all of the latches replaced, a rod through one hinge is missing, wood in tailgate needs replacing and the back end has some dents that will need repaired.
So after looking back at Matthew's pictures and thinking back to some of the excessively large loads I have hauled in the A1, I am confident that the A1 chassis will be sufficient. An axle swap with brakes will most likely be in the future. And I am going to see how well the springs hold up to...
I have looked through two different manuals on this site and through my paper manual and I cannot find any mention of ubolt torque specs. There is a section in the back of the manual that is a chart for different size and grade fasteners with torque specs. But I can't find anything...
Do you all feel like the A1 & A2 chassis is stout enough for this bed? I am thinking pretty hard about using the A1 chassis and possibly swapping axles to an electric brake axle. If I do this I will definitely beef up the springs. If I use the A1 chassis should I beef up the frame too? I...
Anybody have a Toyota Tacoma or Tundra and a M101? Both of those trucks, from my internet searches, have bumpstops that mount the same. Tube diameter is close to the same so spring bolts should be close. Can anybody check a Toyota and give the spring width and distance between ubolts? I'll...
M101A2 & M101A3 both have hydraulic surge brakes. You will need to change bulbs to 12 volt and adapt the military trailer plug or totally rewire with civilian lights and wiring.
